It's time yet again for our Artist's Feature! In our effort to promote the beauty of creative expression and create a lasting cooperation between MySpace and deviantART, this week's featured artist is MorbidiaMorthel.
A photomanipulator out of Macedonia, MorbidiaMorthel's art focuses on the dark emotional theme. She pours her heart and soul into her pieces, and by God, it shows! Participating in clubs and contests around dA, she has shown to be a very talented and dedicated artist. A member of dA since January 2007, she has produced 78 beautiful pieces and accumulated over 98,000 pageviews. Today, she has this to say:
"My name is Monika. I'm 19 and I'm from Macedonia. I started doing digital art about 2 years ago. As soon as I discovered DeviantArt I knew I was gonna start doing some kind of digital art. At first photomanipulation seemed to be the easiest type, but later on my artworks evolved by inventing my own techniques and mixing photomanipulation with digital painting. Today people tell me that I have developed my own style which makes me very happy. My art is mainly influenced by the music I listen to and a couple of artists. Some say its gothic, some dark, some even categorize it as fantasy. I do hope you'll find it useful as a source of inspiration."
