I'm sure she has a script to follow. He kept asking about being detained for a specific reason, basically to try and catch her in detaining him without probable cause. While you do not have to answer questions of the police, you do have to show them ID if stopped in a vehcile.

the group is a bunch of tools, and when he thinks about it, failing to comply with a proper identity under the patriot act could get dicey if he gets the wrong DHS officer.

not that i would ever sacrifice freedom for security, when being asked by your country to affirm your nation of residence, it seems like a pretty cut and dry situtation of saying, "U.S." and being on your way.
