Current mood:  annoyed
News says gas may climb to $4.00 a gallon!!!!!
band tours will soon become obsolete at that price!
bands will have to make Exposure their first priority over any concern of profit because theyll be lucky to just break even!
and with the closing of venues (all-ages and otherwise) all over the U.S its getting harder and harder for bands to make a buck- gas definitely outweighs whatever underground bands can make, not to mention adding studio or rent space costs.

i feel for all bands trying to 'make it'. although Im a strong believer of DIY labels, if bands are shit-broke playing gigs, it seems theyll certainly need outside help just to be able to put a recording out.

I admire the perseverance of struggling bands to keep truckin.
MAY THE ROCK GODS BLESS YOU IN THIS TIME OF NEED. DAMN.

All thanks to that asshole George W. He puts us into such a high debt, much of which was bought up by China, that now THEY get first dibs on the cheap gas that we supposedly went into Iraq for in the first place. Either we give them the cheap gas, or they call in the debts. We're totally fucked for years to come.

This also means JETFUEL prices will go up making it more expensive to tour to/from overseas and to just go to some big punk fest in europe or something!

My band, INSTANT ASSHOLE has been forging new areas along our touring route. playing more shows closer together so the drives arew shorter between shows. So instead of going straight from SF to LA we go to modesto, sotckton or fresno on the way down to LA and on the way banck home we play bakersfield fresno or another spot we are developing . We like this because small 50 person shows are always more fun than 100-500 person shows and so yes gas is expensive but we adapt an and grow and change and expand . So instead of going 400 miles to the next show we go 150 miles.

From SF to UKIAK to ARCATA to EGENE to Portland and seattle. Takes longer but thats tour (its not warped tour but fuck that shit anyway). Back from Seattle we hit a medford oregon corvalis ca chico california and davis ca.

the little towns love it! more receptive than big cities anyway . haha.
