I have just been reading a blog about all the paper
cups floating about. So much for Plastic Bags being a pest in the
environment, what about these cups, impregnated with plastic too..
Mine is a nice blue ..
Thunder Bolt Blue.. the color is called ..
An
unexpected visit to Blackwater with a Neighbour I got to see the Steam
Train that is used in the Qld Government 150 years Celebrations.. Only
a mobile phone picture as I had only set out to walk to our local
corner store, not to our Big Smoke some 20 kilometers to the west of
town...

Because
the Track Side Water Tanks were removed some time after Steam Trains
ceased to be in Operation.. removed and cut up.. so they could not be
used at a later date for a local Museum.. Proir to 1963, Bluff was the Biggest town
in the Duaringa Shire with a number of small underground Coal Mines, it
was the main Rail Center too, with Walton some 4 miles east of Bluff
the Water Top Up. The water was taken from Walton Creek Dam and pumped
up to the water tank.. The dam was purposefully BUSTED when the new
Concrete Bridge was built over Walton Creek. This was done before I
went to stay with my then "Ganger" Husband who worked on the maintence
of the Track ..
Another Story regards the accident the husband
had, driving an unreg. Holden he got from a GOOD MATE . The breaks did
not work, you had to change gears and slow down, then turn the vehicle
uphill until it came to a halt.. Well, something distracted him, and
he came hurtling down the dirt track & fell out the door he kept
closed with his right Arm... Three cracked ribs & at least one
broken on.. Tezza the eldest son was also in the vehicle at the time,
got one hell of a fright, but ok.. I was eight months pregnant.. had to
call for ambulance via primitave communications, hold a pole to the
wires & speak via a mobile phone.. Them were the days.. August
1976... The water tank was still standing, but empty.
