The following is about my online comic The Kenmore and has been lifted from the comic's blog:
And In The End
September 7th, 2006
Not quite the update people were expecting, I know.
After thinking long and hard and trying desperately to force some Kenmore-related humor from my brain to the drawing table, I've decided to close up shop. The Kenmore has been online since the beginning of August last year, but I haven't been happy with it in some time. And now I'm feeling pressure to continue to create it although I dont feel I can do it justice, which is fair to no one.
The characters will be back in some form, that I can assure you. That pesky Iago has been stealing my thunder for five years now and while I'm having trouble hearing his voice lately, I know he'll be back to his own derisive self in no time. And I'll still be putting pencil to paper, most notably in my other project, Life's A Bluff, as well as various guest comics and a project I'm developing with Jon Scrivens from Little Terrors.
It's been too long that I've been leaning on the "hang on, guys...just wait!" thing and while I always sincerely meant it, I was never sure if I could live up to it.
Chances are I will be folding the Kenmore archives into my personal site, brandonjcarr.com, as well as the archives from Between The Panels and Iago's Scrambled Tales. So if you're interested in seeing where things go, thats the bookmark to keep.
I've always loved hearing from you, the people who still stop by, so please feel free to continue letting me. My evergreen e-mail address is brandon@brandonjcarr.com and I'm getting better with replies to e-mails, however brief.
Dont forget to continue to support Boxcar Comics, as they've always supported me. There are some great strips there and I've scored some fantastic merchandise from them lately.
Thanks for everything, everybody.
Brandon, Iago, Andrew, Etc.
