glad to hear it.  the apache cafe used to be the yin yang cafe.  i was in grad school at ga tech, on public transit.  i used to walk through the 3rd street tunnel to catch the marta at north ave and get back to my place in little 5 points.  one night, the beer bar with pool tables and peanut hulls on the ground, that i wouldn't have been caught dead in, was under construction.  i waltzed in to meet the four owners of yin yang.  i think the dude from france was called andre.  they blew me away with their vision, and i told them i'd be there on opening night.  i was the first customer at yin yang.  it was the hottest scene i have ever seen.  a drummer named lil john held the place down, and erbody who was anybody (and some who were not) jumped on stage and flowed.  every thursday night.  it was musical heaven.  i heard indie.irie was discovered there, but i was long gone by then.

all that to say you are performing on sacred ground.  apache is (or was based on the last article i read) tryna maintain that tradition. i think by getting van hunt, one can assume they succeeded.  i will get my atlanta posse informed.  i bet you gon have an awesome night!!  i am an la native, but atl appreciates live music like no other town i've ever performed in.

ha, before i hit submit, i just noticed yo big ass head in the crowd!  funny!!!!

Darnit! Would love to see you but I will be in New Orleans along with like 20 of my friends for the Essence Festival.  Maybe you will come back before the year is over.  I'd love to hear music from Use in Case of Emergency live (I downloaded it the morning it became available).

It's tempting to fly out from Seattle, but r/t tickets are over $500. Going to have to catch one of your shows in San Francisco or LA as flights cost much less. Hope your shows in ATL go great. I imagine they'll be a little emotion stirring after the past week...
