No. I'm kidding. I know enough about you to say that you are without a doubt among the finest and most giving actors i've had the pleasure of working with, but unfortunately it seems that every project we work on together is cursed. I don't think it's you, but i do think that the fates are trying to stop me from finishing and releasing a project that truly showcases your talents and so while I would love to be the director that really allows you to shine, someone else will likely beat me to it.

Manuel, I believe you to be a very brave person. Not for your expressiveness on stage but for the life-changes you make and perhaps especially for your religeous choice. I believe you to be wise beyond your years and a very strong person both inwardly and out.

I believe our conversation following . . . THAT film festival, I answered this question. You are not only a rediculously talented man who deserves only the best in your career, but a man so completely dedicated to his craft that I highly doubt i will ever see anyone who rivals you in this respect.

(things are going fine. I told you that i had a problem with your demo and Mark was supposed to re-give me the audio files, but he's been busy, i've been busy and MOST unfortunately you end up suffering for both our crap. You deserve better. I'm sorry, man. i promise i haven't forgotten)

Oh right. What am I gonna say? Something negative? Give me a break.

Not only are you the most intimidating person I have the pleasure of knowing, your heart seems to know no bounds.

The talent you posses simply surpass that of nearly all of your peers that i know of in any field you seem to try your hand, and I humbly include myself among your peers that you surpass. Your acting ability and skill, be it in voice-over, theatre or live-action movies continues to surprise me with every new project i have the pleasure of either watching or participating in, and your professionalism and dedication is only exceeded by the presence you bring to any given project. The skill you posses in writing was one of the key factors in my revised outlook on life and the project(s) we develop have only strengthened said outlook. For that i am eternally grateful.

I was not lying when i told you that I doubt you will ever really understand what you've done for me. By simply talking and being COMPLETELY honest with your advice and suggestions, you have done something that not even my very best best friend (Billy) was able to do, nor could the many people that have honestly and earnestly tried to do. When i was in a ridiculously dark place you showed me the first shaft of light from which I have finally emerged and you did so without pouring out compliments and advise to "cheer up" but by saying exactly what i really needed to hear to shake me from the darkness and wake me up. Being Gnostic I should have been "awake" all along, but seeing as the feminine is honored in my religion, it is no surprise that the person who finally cut through the darkness was indeed a woman.

You have inherited a bodyguard in me, Jess. I may not be a physically strong person but I swear that anyone who hurts you physically or emotionally will feel my wrath if i find out about it, for you deserve nothing but the best things in life and deserve to be surrounded by only the best people . . . not to say that i would barge in like a Neanderthal, but you need only give the slightest indication that i should help and anyone that hurts you is toast.

That said, it is my distinct honor to be among the people you call "friend," and will endeavor to continue to earn that privilege.
 

WOW. I am flattered to say the least. It is lovely that you feel that I have had such a profound impression upon you. I have apparently given myself a lot to continue to live up to I only hope I can rise to the challenge!!!

In all honesty only one word comes to mind when I think about you, bro. And that word is "Talent."

But i will try to expand.

Scott, you are the kind of performer that I am afraid to use. By that I mean that you are so overwhelmingly gifted in your craft (and I do not speak exclusively of your comedic or music abilities) that the temptation for me as a director is to try to use you in some capacity in every project I ever direct. However, you'll note I've directed you only twice (not including the times I've had music by Feels Like Sunday in my films). The reason for this, my friend is that your presence is so great it has many a time out-shone your fellow actors. I as a director do not feel like i have the capacity to prevent that from happening and therefore until I become a director who is worthy of working with THE Scott Bryan i will try to maintain a certain level of friendship with you so that you will feel obligated to act for me again.

In terms of your own directing, I've never had more fun being slapped by Jessica than working on Hamlet.

(hmmm. replying to your post has made me realize what i want you to act in for me next . . . heh heh heh)
 

yeah, okay, bottom line it still just means less work for me. :c)

sooooo, you've got my number, give me a call if you need me to come be an attention hog in anything you're doing.

or better yet, give me something that calls for a bit of subtlety and see if i can keep it together. : )
