The Inevitable Train Wrecks in Life

At night, I've been the black
In dark, I've been the pain
But struggle's what I've never done…
I've always stayed the same

Because I just want to find you
no matter how I'm lost
so I've never struggled to be anyone but me

Still you've tied me to the track
Your heart is just the train
But struggle's what I've never done…
I'm ceded in the chains

Because I just want to feel you
no matter what the cost
so I've never really struggled to get free

All the love I've borrowed---
I never gave it back
So see me as a criminal- so deserving of the pain
Imprisoned by my sorrow,
I'm shackled to a track
staring down the line in the shadow of a train

But I've never really struggled
because I've never felt
anything on my skin
but all the bitter pain
And I just want to feel you
even if it means
I'll never feel anything again

Wow--- A major coincidence. I hope my poem didn't have anything to do with it. At least everyone injured is ok.

I wouldn't consider a train running someone over a train wreck, I would have made more emphasis on your pain being as intense as a train's as it collides with fate.

I guess I just prefer to see the titles of poems have some form of relevance over the poem that follows.

Train metephors and an amazing picture... I'm never good at putting both sides of my art together like that.

I am going between your book, and 4 books on Leukemia, and my text books. I should have yours done in the next couple of days, and I'll have your request done by Sunday if all goes well.

Great work as always Jon.

I just found out I'm going to be published in Joanne Olivari's YaSoul ezine in July... so I'm kind of excited... it will be the second one published, unless you count the songs...

Best wishes to you.

All the love I've borrowed---
I never gave it back
So see me as a criminal- so deserving of the pain
Imprisoned by my sorrow,
I'm shackled to a track
staring down the line in the shadow of a train

But I've never really struggled
because I've never felt
anything on my skin
but all the bitter pain
And I just want to feel you
even if it means
I'll never feel anything again

In these lines, it is so true, if we could just experience that one love just to have it, we would not want to experience anything else for the rest of our lives because our lives would be complete. Jon, keep up your writing up, because it is very emotional, true, and very inspiring!

Beautifully worded and written. I think you spoke the words so many have held within, yet never been able to express it. So for that, you deserve a thanks. :)

Some of these people just won't get out of our way. Or we won't jump outta there's. The crash becomes desirable. Very cool ideas here again Jon.

An Awesome write Jon.

Number one...there are so many verses that hit home and really bring this piece to life. The use of the wreck is a great metaphor that is just perfect. A favorite for sure.

BTW...the picture is perfect too.
