first contact was good ill give you that, but there was soo much more that could have been done with it, like the original script. where the ENTIRE FEDERATION, ROMULANS, JEM-HADAR AND EVERYONE ELSE (INCLUDING SPECIES 8472) battle the borg HOMEWORLD, where the borg originated!!! the script was scrapped due to budget costs and time frame. dont get me wrong, alice krieg was spectatular, so was everyone else. There just could have been more borg cube fighting and more cubes as well. I am a huge fan of star trek (even have made a borg costume, klingon makeup, ferengii makup[grand nagus], and romulan/vulcan makup) I think this movie will be good, but not as good as the best star trek movie "the wrath of kahn". beam me up, im done here!!

First Contact was set in 2373, the year the Dominion War started. The Jem-Hadar were at war with the Federation during the events of First Contact. Also, First Contact was released in the fall of 1996, the first appearance of Species 8472 was in the spring of 1997, meaning any first script of First Contact would have been written prior to 1995. Species 8472 wasn't even conceptualized until after principle filming of FC ended.........Where did you hear about this original script?........And I of course agree, I don't think this movie will be better than the "Wrath of Khan".

I don't see why they didn't get Leonard Nimoy for the role of Spock. Vulcans can live for hundreds of years. Not only does it make a bit more sense, but it would be fucking awesome to see again. ^_^

I love ST as well and was a bit concerned about a reboot, but the trailers look as if it may be worth seeing. I have to agree that this poster doesn't do the franchise justice and is very lacking. But we don't want the poster, do we? We want to see the movie (and Sylar as Spock meeting Spock as Old Spock).

Your welcome. I know these things, because I follow many media franchises for a blog that I run. As for your question about Nimoy, from what I have heard he is playing Old Spock. I don't know more than that. Guess we'll have to wait for the movie to come out to know what that means to the overall story.

Maybe...remember in one of the trailers where Nero said "James T Kirk was a great man - but that was another life!"........I think there may be some time travel going on in this movie in regards to Nero and Old Spock - especially seeing how Spock in the timeline after Nemesis is working undercover in the Romulan government to try and reunite the Romulans and the Vulcans.

because hes fat!! and selling "price line" crap. he has officially "jumped the shark" with his career, and he already said that he will do no more with star trek, but on rare occasions, he might attend a convention, but that is about it.......oh also, HES PLAYING WORLD OF WARCRAFT!! and doesnt have any time, like everyone else who plays. he he......(and looking for his hairpiece)......

As much as I'm looking forward to this movie, i'm not completely happy with this poster. Most cinema goers at first glance wouldt'nt know what the image is. They should have gone with a photo montage of the entire crew, or better still they should have hired the great DREW STRUZAN, who has the ability to totally recapture spirit of any movie(check out his Star Wars and Indiana Jones poster.) Still, can't wait to see this movie!

I love classic Star Trek... which is why I think this is going to suck.......The continuity and history of the characters and events from classic Star Trek is being completely "Re-imagined" by the same hype factory that brought us Cloverfield.......I anticipate the same prerelease hype and post release dissapointment that the forgettable film version of "Lost in Space" had.

JJ Abrams wont screw this film up, but it may have been hacked up on the cutting room floor in a way that may not bring out the films full potential, and that would be Paramount's bad.

I dont smell ladies with poodle hair cuts who wear clark kent style glasses who throw up the vulcan sign and wear the Wrath of Kahn starfleet uniforms. Star Trek fans are so close minded. I want to see this really bad!......I dont think they are going to ruin the continuity. They are respecting that fact. I love how everything looks so far and the poster is a bit lacking but at least they are making the Enterprise a "Character" in this film just like the others. I dont know why Star Trek fans are so pissed. All I gotta say is when Nemesis came out, it got beaten by a J. Lo film called "Maid in Manhattan" so yea, I think its time for a change. Also, the typical Hans Zimmerman look is gone so im glad things look different. I love Kirk and crew so im excited to see the original/new cast blowing everything out of the water. So yea... kissmahass.

Kid's now obviously now don't, or aren't as familiar with star-trek as other people might be.. other...OLDER.. people..........This Star Trek Movie might be a different approach at the same thing done before.. But better.. For a different audience..........And plus..........J.J Abrams is great at Sci-Fi..........He's a crazy......And that's awsome......:)
