I must admit that sometimes the trips less planned are the best. While I went to Memphis, Tenn., to be mesmerized by mentalist Craig Karges (and I was totally amazed by his abilities) I did not plan to visit Sun Studios, where legends Johnny Cash, Howlin' Wolf, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley and Carl Perkins all recorded. I ended up there anyway. I loved the fact that I got to visit a place so central to recent music history. (BTW, the "x" by my foot is where Elvis recorded his first Sun Records side.) Another awesome thing I learned is that they still actively record folks at Sun Studios for the low, low price of $85/hr. My vanity has already assured me that I need to record something at the legendary venue.

Back to Mr. Karges. I was impressed by his ability to read people. To an extent, I wanted him to try to read my mind, though I probably would've gotten myself in trouble :-)
