Not seen nor heard around these parts since their debut ‘your space or mine’ came a calling and nearly had us pinned to the wall with its proto angular punk hysteria. We suspect we’ve missed the odd release since - and believe you me there have been grumbles aplenty between bouts of furious teeth gnashing. That said there’s been a fair amount of insane bopping in the gaff since the arrival of this un-chirpy slice of caustic cuteness. The duo - Matt and Mia - are currently busy practicing various stage moves in preparation for the festival season in between occasional trips to the studio where in when the muse takes them they’ve been cementing prickling pop slabs which when dried and arranged into a neat and tidy earful will appear on a brand spanking debut type full length thing. Until such time the yummy ’karmarama’ which alarmingly appears on our pod player as Annie Lennox’s ‘sing’ which is a tad disconcerting to say the least. A killer slab of wiring electronics and austere schizoid fuzz bleached and buzz sawed death disco groove - think that covers most bases - in truth sounds like a pretty mental Zea in a furiously floor shredding face off with Winterbrief, acutely agitated and fizzing with all manner of monochromatic festering and is that ‘your arse is getting larger’ that we keep hearing them saying throughout, throw in some Raincoats, a smidgeon of the Waitresses a little bit of the Normal and a shed load of crookedly insistent drum n’ bass motifs and you have something that’ll fry the ass of your hi-fi. www.nrone.co.uk
