so every week i usually write way too much stuff about shows that most people don't read, but i write it regardless. I thought i'd post it here for those who don't read bulletins (like myself nowadays...)

I'm probably going to die of sleep exhaustion. I'll be working and playing waaaaaaaaaaaay too hard, but its going to be worth it. I'm only young once and here pretty soon on the 3rd, I won't be so young anymore.

So here's some stuff about bands. I'm super god damned excited for the next 9 days. If you live in Colorado Springs, come hang out and have a blast with me. Send me off to hell right... haha....
---------------

Well here GO! We're about to enter the craziest week and a half of the entire summer. The next 9 days will probably kill us down here at the Triple Nickel, but we're going to go down smiling and having a fucking BLAST. In the Next 9 days we have 7, yes 7(!) amazing shows to knock your socks off with.

So rather than me just ramble on and on and on as i usually do, lets get on with it shall we?

Friday July 24th: ROOSTERD!, Anchor Down, In The Red, Bastards of Young FREE!!!
Saturday July 25th: The Hollyfelds, The Ghost of Mike Clark & John Strelec FREE!!!
Monday July 27th: NOBODYS, OFF WITH THEIR HEADS & DEAR LANDLORD FREE!!!

Folks. Seriously these are the best 9 days of music the Nickel has ever seen. Every single one of these shows will be knock out incredible. I know i say it a lot, but just LOOK at those line ups????

Friday night we have some of the absolute BEST up and coming Northwestern Post-Pop-Punk bands touring right now. I can't even explain it, but these are the next big things. These are the bands who after this tour will be cemented in your brains of bands who are returning Punk Rock and pop-punk to its roots. I'm so excited I can't explain just how great these guys are. So rather than explain it I encourage you guys to listen to them all at their respective myspace pages:

http://www.myspace.com/youngbastards

Also playing with these fine, fine bands is the Colorado Springs Super group: Roosterd! Featuring Matt Freeman and Jon Saultz from The Boxsleeves, Steve Bauer from Drag The River, Premier Tattoo and some ska band I use to love, and JJ Nobody from well... you know. They have no music up but check them out here:

Music starts EARLY on this night because of the 3 touring bands. Roosterd is more than likely going on FIRST and at 9:30 SHARP.
The show is Free
and 21 and up as always...

Saturday night we bring the return of the absolute BEST Traditional Country band in Colorado. These guys have won the Westword's BEST OF DENVER: Country band honor for the last 2 years in a ROW. They're female fronted. They're damned, damned talented and a damned great, GREAT band.

Playing with them is the newly christened, THE GHOST OF MICHAEL CLARK, featuring Mike Clark from The Jack Trades and The Crow Flies as well as everyone's favorite thrift store owner, Adam Leech on Bass gitfiddle. playing their brand of Folk Country.

Recently turned Legal, John Strelec will be showcasing his yummy singer songwriter folk rock indie goodness to the table and kicking things off and kicking them off right. I know he turned 21 over a month ago, but come buy this young lad a few shots in celebration of his Triple Nickel Debut.

Monday night once again brings more awesome, awesome punk rock action, this time with our local heroes THE NOBODYS. a few months back, Suburban Home Records released a 7 inch in their Under The Influence series where OFF WITH THEIR HEADS covered the Nobody's "classic" SCARED BY LOVE. They were thrilled at the prospect of playing JJ's bar and even more floored when it was announced that the NOBODYS would be playing with them at this special show.

Both bands are currently signed to NO IDEA records, the label that brought the world HOT WATER MUSIC, AGAINST ME, and a shitload of other incredible bands, so you know you're in good company checking these guys out. I can also almost guarantee that OFF WITH THEIR HEADS will be signed to Fat Wreck Chords in the next 2 years, if that kind of thing floats your boat. Dear Landlord is a side project from one of my favorite Pop-punk bands: THE COPYRIGHTS. If you are a fan of god damned GREAT pop-punk in the vein of Screeching Weasel, The Descendents, The Ergs and The Ramones, then you will NOT want to miss this show. This is the show that i personally have been waiting ALL summer for and I'm super, SUPER excited to see these guys.

Check them out:

Are you still with us? Good.

We're taking Thursday off to get some (but not all) of the Alcohol out of our system.

Friday brings the return of STAB CREW, every one's favorite resident Punk Rock band. Along for the ride are Unit Six from Miami, Florida. They sound a lot like RANCID and remind me of when Anti-Flag was good. And Making the trek from Denver are ST. FALL APART. Denver's newest and premier Punk Rock band. They'll have just gotten home from a week long tour with Frontside Five. They'll be the next Colorado band to do some great, great stuff. I've heard some of the records from their newest record and its great. Expect an announcement from these guys about signing to a pretty descent sized label soon.... Cause they're damned, damned good.

Now I've blown my load on adjectives for the month.... Saturday August 1st was originally envisioned as a small birthday party for myself. How sad. I, Damian, has to organize his own birthday party... Geez... What a loser. I got my good friends, and one of my FAVORITE BANDS,  THE LUSITANIA to come allllll the way up to Colorado from El Paso JUST for the event. I figured I'd reach for the sky and try to get another of my favorite bands, DRAG THE RIVER to play and it all snowballed from there. They agreed and it is their first full band performance since.... March? I then discovered that Jonathan from RJ FLETCHER and drummer for ANDY TANNER and I share the same birthday, so they were added to the bill and Awesomeness will ensue....

But I'm no longer advertising it as my Birthday party since some other amazing people all have birthdays in the same week. So why hog it all to myself. Billy the bartender, Liz Bauer (its also her and Steve's 11th wedding Anniversary!), Kord, and waaaay too many other people who i have forgotten all have birthdays in the same week or so. So We're going to CELEBRATE THEM ALL with some amazing Country fried Music and waaaaay too much booze. Then I plan on sleeping for a month.... After all this awesomeness, I'm going to have too....

This show is $5 bucks (because of all the awesomeness)
21 and up
and
9pm.... I'll be dead before dawn....

Once again, I wrote too much...
Thanks for reading and we'll see you at the bar!!
