samedi, septembre 09, 2006

You may have read or heard that I showed up at a WWE Raw house show Friday, 9-8-06, and created a "disturbance."  Well, before people jump to conclusions and try to put their own spin on what and why I did what I did, I figure you might as well hear it from the horse's mouth.

Part of the reason dates back to the Smackdown show taped on 2-11-03, airing on UPN 2-13-03.  It was my return to national TV after many months recovering from injury as well as many months helping with the WWE's training system, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), in Louisville, KY.  After so much time off TV, instead of any build up and fanfare for my return, the WWE had me dress up as a known homosexual (Boy George), come out of a large crate in the middle of the ring (a closet, so to speak), sing in a very effeminate voice ("sing like a fag" I was told by the agent/creative person assigned by Vince McMahon to me and this "storyline,"), and take a very physical, stiff beating from the Undertaker including 3 extremely brutal and UNSAFE chair shots to the small of the back and the top of the head.

Now, I believe this was in response to my possible plans, at the time, to come out of the closet nationally. Prior to my comeback, I had several discussions with people within the WWE about coming out, and I am sure it got back to Vince.  Instead of just telling me that he would prefer it if I didn't come out, I believe he set up this angle as a message to me.  I can't say that for sure, but if it wasn't a message, it was an incredible coincidence. Following this incident I was very rarely on Smackdown or Raw, and was pretty much beaten every week until I was fired.  I guess everyone can draw his/her own conclusions.

Now, as recently as a few weeks ago, my goal was to return to the WWE, I guess in some ways not wanting to believe that I was really fired because I was gay.  But I was curious.  Several attempts to contact and talk to the WWE about a possible return went unanswered.  And in trying to find out about the potential for a return, I found out from people within the WWE that my suspicions about being fired because I was gay, according to them, were correct.

One person high up on the corporate side confirmed that Vince knew that I was gay and that was at least part of the reason that I was released.  This person told me that Vince has said in the past, "it is my company, and I can hire and fire whoever I want for whatever reason I want."  And, although morally I do not agree with that statement, in some ways I see his point and in some ways I agree with him….if it was a private company.  But the WWE is a public company, and Vince's top priority should be turning a profit for his stockholders.  He should not allow any of his personal animosity or prejudices towards any groups or individuals affect decisions that may affect potential profit for his stockholders.  But that is just my opinion.

I also heard from a high profile wrestler who was in both the WWE and WCW who said that he was aware of an agent who had also known that I was gay (it was not a well kept secret within the industry for many years), and that this agent would often talk of me being gay and he would refer to me in some circles as "that fu**ing faggot," and "that queer."  This agent was often responsible for my matches (the agent is often the liaison between the wrestlers and Vince McMahon), and on several occasions, I know that he lied to Vince about things that I had said and did.  I do believe that may have also been a factor in my being fired, but again, you can form your own opinions.

All that brings us to Friday, September 8, 2006 in Tampa, Florida.  I decided to attend the show because I was frustrated with my inability to hear from Vince McMahon on whether what I had heard was true or not.  If I found out from him that it was true, I would have to move on with my life.  There would be no attempted lawsuits (I really don't believe in them) and I believe I would really have no hard feelings.  I would just know it was my time to move on.  Everything happens for a reason, and I would take this as a sign that there are other things for me to do out there.  It would give me closure to a great chapter in my life.

On the other hand, if it is not true, I would like one more run.  I miss wrestling in the WWE and I feel I still have something to offer.  But, thus far, I have not heard from Vince.  So I decided to bring 2 signs to the house show.  "HHH, PLEASE ASK VINCE WHY HE REALLY FIRED ME" and since that really didn't let Vince know what I was thinking. "SHAWN PLEASE PRAY FOR MY GAY SOUL."  I intentionally did not do this during the match out of respect to Shawn and HHH, since I would never want to distract from anyone's match.

So, during their INTRODUCTION, I went to ringside with the signs and HHH and Shawn both came to the rope on the side I was standing and acknowledged my presence, which was a show of class by them.  Shawn nodded and gave me a thumbs up, I assume meaning he would, in fact, pray for me.  HHH grabbed the mic and said something, almost inaudible, I think saying, "Who invited Kanyon?"  Security ushered me out of the building, although I had paid for my ticket (the nice promoter for the WWE, Bret, did get tickets for my friends, but I bought my own ticket).

And that was that.  Not a publicity ploy, as some will accuse.  And it was definitely not an attempt to upset anyone or distract from the show (if I did that I am sorry).  I do want to take this opportunity to personally apologize to WWE Security, Jimmy N.  He is a great guy, always treated me well when I was with the WWE, and he does a great job.  I am sorry if I upset him.  In closing, I would like to say that what I did  was just an attempt to get some answers so that I can move on with my life, get some closure or return to the national wrestling scene.  The ball is in Vince's court.  I really wish he would just let me know if I can still play the game again or not.

Thats no excuse for wasting Kanyon.  WCW did a great job with Kanyon and WWE squanderered him.  Homophobe or not thats a waste of talent.

It never ceases to amaze me how the people who scream "faggot" (Yeah dumb fucks, that's how it is spelled) the loudest are the ones who love sports with guys in revealing underwear ("tights" if it makes you feel less gay), big muscles, rubbing("wrestling" "fighting") all over each other, grabbing each others crotches("holds") the most. Come on people, pro-wrestling is the gayest sport next to figure skating in terms of how it looks from the outside perspective. You don't think there is something rather homosexual/homoerotic about a guy putting another guys head between his legs("pedigree" "sunset flip")? What about the stinkface, the bronco buster, and Vince's "kiss my ass club" segments? GAY,GAY,GAY!!!!! Get over yourselves, get an education(learn to fucking spell when you are talking shit if you want anyone with an ounce of a brain to take you seriously), and quit wasting everyones time. If you are a fan of Kanyon's then you could give two shits if he is gay or not, if you are not a fan then delete his profile because no one cares what you think and in fact I am sure everyone thinks you are that much more an idiot for wasting your time with such a petty and miniscule obsession.....Come out of the closet and quit attacking Kanyon for being what you do not have the guts to be. It is obvious you are a self hating "Queer" who needs to just get it over with and suck that dick you've always dreamed of and quit hating others for living out your deepest fantasies!

As for Kanyon's sexuality being a gimmick/work.....Who the fuck would choose to portray themselves in their public life this way...(not some storyline) if it were not true? I am sure Kanyon just loves having ignorant fucks calling him Faggot, Queer, etc. I am sure he just loved telling his friends and family that he was different and would never live up to their expectations. I am sure he basks in the joys of being ridiculed, humiliated, discriminated against, disrespected, and on and on.....Open your eyes, you may not want to see it or accept it , but I promise you there are 5 big, tough, masculine, angry motherfucking gays out there who will kick your ass and then fuck it if you fuck with them for every 1 swishy, effeminate, sterotypical ,"queer" that will hide from hateful fucks like you. They just don't wear rainbows or pink triangles so you can target them. How are you gonna feel the day a 6 foot 6 muscled monster holds you down and shuts your mouth with 9 inches of horse cock for calling him a FAGGOT and then proceeds to take years of anger and torment out on your sweet ass by beating you to a bloody pulp? I'm sure you will cry like the little bitch you are, and then we'll all see who calls who a faggot again.

Here's to you Kanyon!!!!! Fuck all these dipshits...I am glad you keep there comments up so everyone can see how ignorant they are.Good luck!

Chris Kanyon,

I wanted to put in my two cents after reading a ton of comments and Ive got both negative and positive aspects to say my piece over.  First off, Id like to say that I disagree with a lot of the fans who have said that you were worthless because youre not.  I thought your Mortis gimmick was awesome in WCW and while you werent my favorite wrestler, I thought you and DDP were among the greatest tag teams there ever were; I was mad that you two, despite getting the WW(e) tag titles, didnt get quite the push I thought was due.  Then again, it was right after WCW folded, so maybe Vince was sticking it to them.

I dont think anyone should be fired because of their sexuality and its not a big secret that Vince is homophobic.  While Im not exactly homophobic I am a Christian man who only swings one way (Hey, womens, hows it goin? ).  But I also believe that everyone has the right to live life how they see fit.  If Vince fired you for that reason, then it is wrong.  However, if there were other reasons that were brought up, you may need to consider them; if Lex Luger is true in saying that you were hard to work with, then you need to perhaps rethink how you act around people.  I dont know if thats true, but sometimes people have a different perception about themselves compared to others around them.  Look at the Ultimate Warrior.  He definitely is not gay (if youve ever been to his radical website, youd definitely know), but didnt last long because a lot of the wrestlers have said he was hard to work with.  Like I said, I really dont know, but being hard to work with travels fast in the industry and I suggest you think deeply about times you may have been hard to work with.

As for you coming out of the closet, its all good; its your wrestling abilities that should count.  However, you have stated that youre the first openly gay wrestler in the industry.  That actually is not true; Simon Sermon is the first one, according to:

http://www.obsessedwithwrestling.com/profiles/s/simon-sermon.html

If you have done your research, you wouldve known that he came out with a DVD.  I dont know much about him, but he released a DVD about his wrestling career and also his homosexuality.  Coming out of the closet is fine, as Rob Halford of the heavy metal band Judas Priest (an example) did years ago and wanted to come clean with his fans.  Youd think this would alienate the fans, but theyre still touring and generating success from their albums.  Why?  Because Halford doesnt flaunt his homosexuality with the fans (besides the fact that the band still kick ass).

You also talked about being at the RAW House Show; one of the girls that commented on this further down the comments list I agreed with.  You didnt want to interrupt the match out of respect, but why did you even consider interrupting at all?  You chose the entrance, when that is the time that the fans pop (wrestling terminology) and notice the wrestling superstars.  Was it impossible to approach HHH and Shawn Michaels before the show?  I personally dont know, so if it is impossible let me know.  But aside from that, if you wanted to be taken seriously and not as a work, then why interrupt in the first place?  People are most likely going to look at it as a work.  Also added to the fact that you said in a recent interview that the Montreal Screwjob was a work; where did you get this from?  Granted, Bret has had serious injuries and cant return to wrestling, but even if he was able to, he said time and time again that hed NEVER do a rematch against Shawn Michaels because if he did the fans might think that it was a work!  Why do you think he didnt appear at WrestleMania?  He didnt want to be paid under a WW(e) salary and also didnt want the fans thinking that it was a work (He even said he was skeptical about being put in the Hall of Fame alone!).  That almost sounds like youre flaunting yourself.  Why else would you say that?  It wouldnt be to get attention, right?

I didnt want to be negative about this, as I believe that you are a good wrestler and can offer something to whatever promotion you end up working for.  I dont know you as a person and thus cant say anything definite.  But I can say that what you have said doesnt match up with your actions and even if you have/had the best of intentions, you should have realized the possible reactions of others.  If you are serious, then you need to reconsider how you carry yourself as a person.

Kanyon, I do hope you return to a big wrestling platform someday.  God bless you in whatever you do, and hopefully things will turn out the best for you.

Sincerely,
Axel Law

PS> I also would like to comment on the Undertaker section.  It's not a big secret that Undertaker is WELL respected, and I have heard countless times that he is one of the SAFEST wrestlers to ever step in the ring (ask Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels, they both praise his work ethic).  I'll have to check out that show on tape (if possible) and see if those chair shots were safe or not.

Sounds like you're a bit obsessed with Bret Hart(did'nt he wear an outfit with a pink triangle on it trimmed in pink...that's kinda "queer" to me", not even a skull could make that outfit look tough) and Kanyon. Are you sure you are not the one who is the FAGGOT? Does somebody need a hug, or a cock to suck?

Aides infested friends? Sounds like you have inside knowledge....Did you have a night or three of no holes barred barebacked gang fucking in a bathouse with his friends to come to this conclusion? Were all of them infested or just the first 5 who shot a load up your sloppy hole? Are you getting excited with all this nasty "Fag" talk? Are you getting angry? Is your fat little head about to explode thinking of  how badly you want to put your hands on me or Kanyon.....I know you need a reason to touch another guy, even if it's fighting...after all you are a wanna be an MMA fighter as well as a pro-wrestler. It's ok...I understand. Now go put on your little panties and oil up your body, lift some weights and go roll around in a cage with your favorite "sparring" buddy, just make sure to wear a supporter to conceal your hardon! If not that is why you are are mad or what. I believe Vince has reasons to fire anyone at least kris made it back to the WWE they didnt want you back so who should be mad you or kris? If the man is gay so what im not gay and i have meet kris at a house show a long time ago and he didnt hit on me so let him be

I hate to sound silly but where did Lex say anything about Kanyon's sexuality? He spoke about the incident at the house show and said he hoped it was a work as it might affect Kanyon getting bookings in the future if it wasn't (which is true).

I don't know whether Luger and Kanyon have history but I read Lex's comment as friendly concern rather than anger. Let's face it, Lex Luger isn't likely to get mad at someone for embarrassing WWE is he? (Watch the first Nitro if you don't know what I'm talking about)

I like Kanyon but flaming Lex Luger for stuff he didn't actually write just seems a bit odd.

I was at the show in Tampa and Kanyon is full of shit. He was making a complete ass of himself although security gave him plenty of time to have his little moment. And then when they told him it was time to start stepping Kanyon started fighting and showing his ass real good (I was in a seat that had a clear view of the floor and the exit doors). Kanyon needs to ask Pat Patterson about Vince's policy on homosexuality in the WWE. Kanyon was just another subpar WCW guy that the WWF brought in to give a chance and he had nothing. It's just too bad they didnt throw out XPac after the match.

So, I just read your reply to Chris Kanyon's latest blog.  I for one, am not someone who tells someone else how to live their life. So, what I am about to say to you, I hope you don't take it in the wrong context, ok? If you are offended, just remember. It's your ego's way of saying, "hey, I just took this guy the wrong way, and it offends me.My problem, not his" RIght? Right.

That being said, Wow! You really layed into him! I can see how someone can misconstrue him for playing the "gay card". Lest you forget though, he has reason to believe that was actually the case, as he clearly states in his blog. Did you not see this? Or did you not WANT to see this?

As far as you working for WCW, I can honestly say, wow....You and I are the same age. At what point in time did you work for them? What did you do for them? (at less than 21 years of age) Oh, by the way, how did that turn out?

UFC? Training? Really? What gym? Under what instruction? Here in Vegas? I know a few of those guys. I'll have to look into it. Can't wait to see you here.

From a man to a boy, really. You don't have to lie, dude. Honestly. Part of actually LIVING your life is to accept who you truly are, and move on from there. That is the essence. The core of life. Until this happens in ones' life, you're not getting the full experience. Ya know, LIVING.

I don't know you. From what I've seen, I'd have to say you're angry. Noone likes an angry boy. I'm sure you're a cool guy offline. Maybe your friends dig you, and that's all you'll need. Right? I just want others to like you too, and from what I've read, that's going to be hard. Good luck in your life, Justin.

PS: Kanyon, it's a shame. I'll always have the memories, though. Mortis was my fav back in the day.

The right push, feud, or gimmick can help create the "name value" that you speak of and Kanyon is more recognizable than a large portion of the roster. After reading various articles, and now Kanyon's own words I'm not sure if the problem is him being gay rather the whole coming out thing. It's possible that he felt that it could cause problems. Who knows how asshole fans would react, possibly throwing things at him out of predjudice and endangering him and his opponent. It's a shame, but that kind of thing could be possible.

Without truly knowing, I'm thinking that the problem wasn't Vince being homophobic, as we know that he has a close gay friend in Patterson, rather his fear of how others would react.

"Name Value"? Are you joking? Since when was that a requirement for employment in WWE? Are you really suggesting that Kanyon has less "name value" than Mike Knox, Gene Snitsky or Gunner Scott?

WWE could easily bring Kanyon back and get him over again if they wanted to. They've done it with Jeff Hardy and Test, to name just two, "Name value" isn't an issue at all.

By the way, he's not "playing the gay card" if people he trusts are telling him that's why he was fired.

Regardless though, Kanyon was used pretty poorly in WWE (when he was being used at all). He was over well at the start of the Invasion but they didn't really give him a chance after that. I can't say whether it was because of his sexuality or not, but he definitely deserved better.

Chris Kanyon made it big--REALLY big. The top in his career.  Now, Justin, how do you rank in the wrestling federation...mmmmm....ohh I forgot it's something you ASPIRE to be. Chris Kanyon made it already, and did it BIG...soooo since you are more of a man (since you are soo down on gay people), than Chris is, tell me--where are you in the hall of famers? So before cutting him down, remember what he has achieved--more than what most guys will ever achieve in a lifetime or even several lifetimes. Chris Kanyon made it to the top, and that's exceptionally rare. His were truly great accomplishments in a single lifetime and before reaching even 35 years old.

Despite your caustic remarks, I think your profile is amusing, and I wish you luck with your own wrestling aspirations.

For your information, wrestling dated back before Ancient Egypt, around 3400 BC. The first Olympic wrestling game was recorded back at 708 B.C. by the ancient Greeks. Back then--men who were GAY was considered not only natural, but honorable and a more manly state than heterosexual men...and the ancient wrestlers were ALL...**gay**..partaking of this VERY man-to-man contact sport. Just for your information, and historic fact.

Have a nice day.

What, and you like SHITTY WWE over TNA??  TNA doesn't have John Cena or Chris Masters in their locker rooms.  And they have at least 25 minutes of wrestling on a one hour show.  WWE?  18 mins. tops on a 2 hour show.  That's fucking ridiculous.

OK Buddy. Kanyon was great at creating new and inovative moves in the ring that where kick butt and he his an underaed talent. As for Rhino and Christian......... They are in no way Trash Pal.. Christian was great in WWE but just never given the ball but gave of his body maney a nights. TLC was master by him and Edge and the Hardys and Team 3D. And Rhino in the origianal ECW was amazing. Now Sting. H/is shouldn't get the push and gold but he still can go.

in my own opinion you're above him and he doesn't deserve to have you in his company HAHA!!!!! but good luck in finally finding answers! that was a fun way of getting a ball rolling so two thumbs up from me!
