Now that we have a result we can live with, my advice would be to stay well away from these forums and hope that "Nancy" replaces Sophie indefinitely from now on. Only the truth behind the facade can hurt those behind it, for it exposes their irony. I hate to say it, but meeting Mr. H on the level is exactly what he wants. The only way to undermine him was to go one level below and dig him up from underneath, exposing his 'true roots'. Now this has been achieved, it is important to stay away and warn others, not to feed these satirists with the oxygen of debate they crave.
Well done, GLF - though in future, remember, that without angry goths, GodHatesGoths and its sister sites have no power and will fizzle out eventually, leaving Goth to prevail and grow stronger!

That is a good thing, but now they are talking about how the rev was with us and that we were pretty much controlling him this whole time.

Let them talk. We accomplished what we set out to do. I find it humorous that there are actually people posting there who believe that site is real. Let them all make fools of themselves. Our job is done.
 

Feel I should point out that although those of us who have the direct link can still view the offending article, now edited, the subject heading does not appear to be available through the site's main topic index.


This means that those of us who have the link bookmarked, can still view it but anyone entering Landover forums from the main page, will not come across it. As far as I can tell, the subject is now archived and only available to read, if you happen to be in possession of the direct page reference.


It may not be a 'perfect' result for everyone, but it is certainly one I can live with, for now. Although our 'Baptists' have resorted to covering their misdemeanor with more sarcasm and satire, they have at least shown clear signs of breaking in the face of our demands.


However - certain named references DO still exist elsewhere and it will no doubt fall to the family now, to apply yet more pressure to get these removed.


Another little point worth considering is this:
People in general across the world keep Sophie's memory safe in their hearts. Not just goths, emos, punks and moshers - but all right minded individuals, that exist across the globe have something in their hearts and minds which NO-ONE can remove. They can use false words; they can try violence - but they cannot take away what we believe in. When Harper uses his satire to mimic christian bible-thumpers, who actually DO oppose people of difference, the insult rains directly upon their heads. WE have the umberella of shared belief over us and as long as we are united, it shall remain watertight.


There is a saying, which supports this and it goes something like:
"We cannot always control what happens to us but we can control our reaction to it"

This is a good start, it shows that we can make a difference when we work together its only a matter of how much you need to push.

It is obviously a piss take and they should be able to say what they want as long as they arn't hurting anyone by saying it and anyone who thinks that this is realy is a oviously a idiot and arn't worth our time.
