Hey, peeps.  So it's that time of life and I get to start looking for an apartment again.  Fortunately I have till the 31st of May.  (Though I can move out/in earlier!)  Unfortunately life until then is going to be a bit insane with ... well, life.

So... anyone who can pass this along for me - I'd much appreciate it.  Or if you know/hear of anything appropriate I'd be very grateful to find out.

First - the basics about me.  33 year old, non-smoking, non-drugged, unpetted, single gay male.  I have jobs - two in fact! - though both are part time.  My housing budget is, however, sadly maxing out at $500/mo including utilities.  And, at the moment at least, I can NOT afford a huge deposit.

Things I'd prefer:  Either a first floor room or a basement room would be ideal.  If it's above that, I'd prefer that it be over a business or something for noise purposes.  (More on that later)  I also need it to be at least somewhat accessible via public transportation as I do not own a car.  I would like to stay in West Philly but bottom line - all bets are off.  

I'm not the neatest person, no.  My room tends to be various states of disarray.  Though public spaces I tend to be pretty good.  My biggest failing is mostly that I'm just absent minded - I simply tend to forget that I left things out.  Conversely I am often more than happy to pitch in with chores.  Sometimes I just need polite reminders.

Primarily I'm a musician.  Right now that means a majority of my income is from teaching lessons.  I teach through a school and (at least currently) not in my apartment.  So no worries there.  I also sell musical instruments out in New Jersey.  But that's not as relevant.

The important part of this is that no, I am *not* a quiet person.  I do need to practice.  No, I don't blare everything out at 11 on the dial.  I have headphone amps for my electric guitar and electric bass.  I don't have such capabilities with my acoustic instruments, however.  

I do strive to be conscientious and respectful, though.  I rarely practice past 11pm regardless of the situation.  If I have to restrict it to 10pm, I can do that.  Any earlier then it's just not going to work out.  (Hence my above comments about noise and floors,)

Other random facts:
I am a night owl.  Rooming with other night owls would be awesome though not required.  I'm not a party animal and either tend to be in my room working or out on the town working or carousing.  I'm not against pets as long as they don't get in my room and destroy my stuff.
