we're not banned forever, but we have now been flagged if ever we return to the UK. They will see that we were denied before and we will definitely have to have work permits/visas, etc. before we gain entry.

sorry to hear all of this shit guys, thats horrible!! I had a friend who was banned from England for telling an immigration officer to go fuck the queen, he was just promptly shipped to Amsterdam, he had to write a personal apology to the queen, I think he's still banned 8yrs later.

Really sorry to hear about your ordeal. I wish I had read the article before heading to London with my girlfriend last week. Though we had plenty of pounds on us and a hotel room confirmation for our entire stay, I was detained for 4+ hours because I had a guitar with me, accused of ¨trying to work in the U.K. without a permit.¨ Don..t they know that there..s no money in indie rock?!?! Something I learned from my scare....never be forthcoming with border patrol....honesty does not pay.

After reading your story, I feel thankful about the shitty treatment that I was given (knowing now that it could..ve been much worse). I..ve heard from everyone that U.K. border patrol is the toughest of all European countries. Sucks that it may be one of the coolest countries to play. But Spain is cool too....and they don..t give much of a shit about anything here...in a good way. No pasa nada.

Anyway, best of luck. Hope you can make it over to Europe before too long.
