The Price I Pay For Music
How do I describe these feelings I have as I try to investigate the expense music has “cost” me over this past year. It is with much chagrin I type this portion, as I would not have believed it fully should someone have told me. There is very little I can do about attitude. Music is so subjective yet originality is buried for the most part where I dwell. I cannot change how people perceive. Is It Good Enough? I can only share my soul through song. I can only play what my fingers allow. I can only sing in the voice I possess. I can only write what the music portrays. I can only give what I can translate. I can only deliver what I feel.
Thanks Ben - I should have realized that the big world does shift a fraction to envelope the cause in sound that has materialized in the remotest of places, almost totally undiscovered like the Artist whose sonic ripples threaten to engulf mainstream Music as we know it. Here, or there or somewhere in between will only be a journey that will accept or deny the influx of the unknown. There are currents undeniably a river of sorts that twists in unison parallel in its unending travel to somewhere else attached and living it may clean or stain as it becomes saturated with sediment. So too are the parallel emotions that are also currents that threaten to envelope all that is clear conscious insipid in the tangling way its embrace fulfills the pattern of confinement. As Rock emotes the heavy speaker, there are melodies that stretch and bend with the tonal enunciation of a Harbor Horn.

Greasy G says

You have an excentric sound. VERY catchy. One I think people may not expect. Much enjoyed!! Greasy G vote approved!!

Soma Star says - Voted for you too - Your voice has a Brian Ferry vibe - fun to listen to your stuff. thnaks again for the support! - Soma Star Posted on October 16

Kris Hansens Left Hand Band says - You write good songs...you have a strong voice. I know you've said this music is unproduced. I think the tunes would serve you better at this point to do them acoustic. Let the guitar and voice lead the dynamics and save the production for when you've saved a bit of scratch and are ready to go into a studio. as far as the mix for the three of these songs, your voice is drowning out the rest of the instruments, which isn't bad considering I would love to hear you do these acoustic. Listen, for what you done here...it's good. I see you doing better! Posted on October 16

Funkenstein JR AKA CountFUNKULAfied says - Music is a picture of your soul and music is a universal language. Keep doing what you do. It is the message behind the message that counts. Peace to you and you got my vote. Posted on October 15

2XCRU says - Thanks from Appalachia!!!Left you one! You are deeply skilled.

Lane Parnell says - Thanks for the comment friend. I do love your songs, you are very talented. It takes a special gift to turn feelings and thoughts into song, and you have that covered. So many artists on this site are so incredibly talented. I am enthused to be a part of such a positive fellowship of artists. Im glad you like my songs although I am no singer, I just love to write and create...
Thanks again! Lane - Posted on October 15

Balls Deep n' Your Girl says - No problem for the review. Its a sign of a great man, with balance who can take a constructive critique and use it to his advantage. Ol' balls is thinking you're a solid guy as a boss, worker, friend, father and if the fucking nightmare has struck you too (5 ex's here.) and... LOL husband.... you got man size...

Soulafide says - Greetings & Respect, just read your blog- I dig your delivery, smooth & gliding over on Just When I Thought, really sweet tone, great vibe, keep doin it man! Balls Deep n' Your Girl saysBAND=Holworks ***** SONG=Just When I Thought OK man you asked, So YOU GOT BALLS..../ Chris Issak influence there is a seed of an idea here. Pretty good for a 1st try. Just up your game w/the writing & production... make the songs go somewhere w/the chorus folks... All verse no Chorus here... again not bad for a 1st attempt, not ready for a national contest but its an ok try... Pro Tools for 300 buks these days, gets you a lot... you got balls for asking for professional input and that is the way to "Make It" HERE... you had balls. Posted on October 11

Lugosi's Morphine says - Thanks so much for the comment! We do get down to NC for Heavy Rebel Weekender. It's a rockabilly fest w- car show all weekend for 4th of July every year. If we play there next year I'll let you know. If you want keep in touch we are on myspace.com/lugosismorphine too. Take Scare! We dig your kinda music. It's very relaxing actually. Do you have a cd out?
~Lugosi's Morphine

James Drive says - Hey Mark, great stuff. How about some more.

Peter Derek says - Thanks for the critique man. I get all kinds of comparisons to other artists. I take at as a good thing when they can't pigeonhole ya. As for liking or hating, I've learned if everybody likes you, you're doin something wrong. As for you, I gotta go with Cohen, which is a damn good thing! Your guitar has some mean ass bends on "No Time". Some people might tell you to turn the amp up to eleven but I like the rootsy juke joint feel. It's not about volume but I think you already know that. Keep doin your thing and good luck!

WorMusicNation (wormajor on MN) says thanx for listening and commenting! other musicians reviews are priceless... honest critique always appriciated. here's a vote and some love. and my opinion: voice is nice, reminds me of Crash test Dummies or type-O-negative, or perhaps Leonard Cohen with better vocal chords. as for improvement, i would suggest more powerful guitars... other than that, keep it up! thanx again! Rock Out! ---B

Vitaly Nurk says .. review..well... I have listened to all your songs.. I am impressed deeply by your music.. it's very cool...)) very melodic, very hamonic arrangements.. But I can't say anything about words, sorry.. Thanks
