Black Women Need Love Too!
On Wednesday August 20th, I'll be interviewing Pearl Jr. author of the book "Black Women Need Love Too!"
This book explores the political climate and social conditioning which puts Black women at the bottom of the barrel in terms of desirability as a wife.
With 70% of Black women registered in the U.S. Census as single, and bleak statistics reporting that at least half of us will never marry, this is an important topic for all of us to examine.
Pearl Jr. and I will discuss the conspiracy in the U.S. to keep Black women alone and lonely. Why are Black women so frequently portrayed as no more than brash gold diggers, booty shaking hoochies, the face of HIV/AIDS, and "baby daddy" welfare queens?
Really, who or what is behind the denigration of Black women in the media and minds of society? This promises to be a very heated discussion on a very controversial topic! Please join us to share your thoughts and opinions.
