i've always wondered why you liedown at night little devil and why your arms eyes and thighs stick out like the high rise in the skies like lies and maybe everything is just so simple, to sleep, and close your smiles forever to walk on stilts you must get tired and i see the cheaper way i've always looked for the shortcut to another day and another chance to ridicule and criticize you, little devil, maybe inside your dreams you weep and can't see the cheaper way and change maybe is just too deep for you to step in, maybe what i always thought could've stood another think, maybe your eyes fall to make it easier to wait for the next phone call, and you sleep because your sheets don't flow the way they used to, maybe you sleep because you're trying to get that back maybe we all just lie down and crawl and crawl and crawl to pass the days to get you back, little devil
