A few years ago, I was given a music video that wasn't quite working; it featured a Bananarama-ish trio singing an 80's-style dance club tune inside of an all-white room. That was pretty much the video; cute as they were, the girls weren't enough to sustain one's interest for the full 3 minutes.
So I recut some of the footage and doodled over the entire thing, just like in high school, when I doodled over desks, homework, books, and tests. Now I was doodling over someone else's video, and it was a lot of fun- a unique combination of one person's idea with another person's reaction to that idea.
