It's snowing.  The first hard snow all year.  Second time it snowed at all.  I walked out of my grandparents house and stared in renewed wonder and awe at the flakes coming down over that few acres of land.  The world had hidden behind this glorious evershifting curtain of white.  Memories from numorous years came flooding back.  Some good mostly bad, all holding one reason or another to make me happy.

Watching my my dog, my original best friend run in snow that buried him.

Watching my baby sisters catch their first snowflakes.

Sitting in the frontseat amazed at the illusion snow could make as my grandpa rolled down the highway in his truck.

Standing in the square alone in ankle high snow as more large snowflakes pounded down and watching them pass in the light dazed by the beauty of my own winter wonderland.

Sitting in a car with someone I shouldn't be, wondering what and who the right choice was.

Turkish Silvers.

Camel No. 9.

Watching the snow in her hair.

Watching the snow in her hair.

The sound of snow falling.

And this year the memories I predict to come away with, just to have come flooding back...

Watching the snow in her hair.

Watching the first of the snowflakes start to stick.

The sound of snow falling.

Happy Winter everyone.

It's not enough to live in memories; we must endanger our feelings in order to be happy and make those memories either real or disappear.
