The other day I caught Suzie in my room staring at herself in the mirror. She let out a deep breath and said, "Suzie's so beautiful."

She always talks in third person ~ which I had a problem with until I realized that so does Elmo and when Gabe would talk to her he would too, so I don't really think it's a self-centered thing yet.

Today we were walking out of the library when an elderly Chinese lady came towards us and just stopped! She was stunned by Suzie's beauty. We waited three whole minutes while she dug in her purse for a cracker for Suzie because she was just so beautiful. "What beautiful blue eyes!"  She just kept saying that over and over. It was so sweet and strange and yet, common.. Finally she found her crackers and we continued to play ring-around-the-rosy on the way to the car.

Suzie is just so funny. I'm not sure what to do. The poor girl seems to just think that that is a customary greeting. "Beautiful blue eyes!"
"And beautiful blue eyes to you too ma'am"

Gabe and I both have blue eyes, though his are slightly lighter than mine and mine are really small. (It's a challenge to smile AND have my eyes open at the same time.) Suzie's eyes are my color with Gabe's eye shape and they really are beautiful blue eyes, with long blond lashes.

So- another story: I took her to my friend Marina's house the other day. Suzie walks in, throws her arms out wide and says, "Hi Marina, Suzie's here!"
And all is well.
