Ey

I was not allowed to write in full the headline sentence I wanted  for my profile, so I'm doing it here. It's a line from one of my songs, and after 15 years of being a songwriter,  to pick a favorite line is not actually possible.
But tonight I was asked to play an old song that I hadn't played for years. And this passage came back to me:

I'm probably an onion
I could only hope to be a rose
But the layers of them both
Define me, I suppose...
