dear mums!
hope spring is in full bloom now.
hows the wee baby goat next door?
tokyo was amazing. i didnt get to see toshio aka bean.
his granma Anna passed away and his house was in mourning.
they loooooved her.
i stayed in Ebisu near shabuya. played 4 hrs cause
ron trent didnt make it from chicago. the venue was called
Unit in Daikanyama up around the corner from Ebisu. place
was jumpin with good vibes. next day i got a ride to go see
something i da always wanted to see; mt fuji! WOOOO HOOOOO!
i wrote this to toshio:
...sorena picked me up in her van with her skinny room mate named Fatty. the van had a huge bag of rice with the shell still .. 2 hours drive we got to the forest and stopped for lunch. soup with thick noodles sitting on mats and cooking it at the tabel. then we saw two different caves. they had ice and one had silk worms up in the back. it was dark and the sky was over cast and the forest was dripping but it wasnt raining. we were inside the low clouds. then we drove up out of the clouds! the sun was there and all of japan lay under a blue and white blanket. we screamed and jumped out of the car at second station looking out over the rippalling skysea. i felt something behind me and slowly turned around. there was the bare raw peak of mt fuji looking down at us with a whisltling white cap of a cloud that appeard out of pure blue sky on the top lip of the mountain and then faded out as it passed over the top. just above it was the moon, brilliant and in half. we drove to fifth station. there was no one there. two buses left as we drove up and three people took a photo or two and drove away. we had the whole place to our selves. sorane and fatty were amazed. they had never been and had thought it was going to be a shity day for it but it was perfect. oct monday low overcast in tokyo means beautiful sunny and empty on mt fuji. the leaves on the trees were changing and some were quite red. you could see the shadow of mt fuji on the clouds. we walked a for awhile and then drove down to a spot just below fifth station where there's a ten minute walk on a stone path to a ridge. we watched the sun go down, listened to the wind in the trees...
i had a good time walking around tokyo. small streets and secrete gardens.
small shops and food places of all kind(taichi hooked me up hey!!).
whatchya cooking?
whats going in the garden this year.
would love to sit on the back deck with one of your salads or ba's pancakes
listening to the magpies chortle.
lov&lov
