Current mood:  aggravated

On Monday, April 27th, thousands of New Yorkers panicked and fled the buildings they were in, in an attempt to save themselves from what they believed to be another terroristic attack on their beloved city, only to find out later that the Boeing 747 that was flying unusally low and tailed by two F-16's was a government "mission" to capture an iconic photograph of Air Force One with the lady liberty in the background.

Jim Peters, FAA spokesperson stated that the photo op was approved and coordinated with everyone. New York police confirm that they were notified of the fly-over but that they were barred from releasing the information to the public, and any inquiries of the fly- over be directed to the FAA. Louis Caldera, Director of the White House Military Office has thrown himself in front of the bus and has taken responsibility for approving the "mission", which cost taxpayers $328,835.00.

Now it has been reported that the Feds knew the effect the fly-by would have on the citizens of New York and they still went through with it, insising on not informing the public. I bet they got quite a laugh watching all those terrified taxpayers running for thier lives.

Who the hell needs terroists, we have our very own government to put the fear into us. Can you say Post Traumic Stress? I live a long way from New York, but what I saw on the television on Monday evoked the same fear I felt the day the twin towers fell, I can only imagine what the people of New York felt after living through it once before. Shame on our government for being so callous and insensitive towards the mental health of our nation.

So, in essence our government scared thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of Americans(whose memories of 9/11 are still fresh in thier minds as if it happened yesterday), and the very people who were affected by the thoughtless actions of our government got to pay for it. What a joke. Our economy is tattered, people are out of work & losing thier homes, businesses are strugging to keep thier heads above water and as if we don't have enough on our plate, our government thinks it's okay to spend over three hundred thousand dollars to get a picture of the presidents fly ride, and scare the shit of of us in the process.

I hope the next time they decide to do something so stupid someone will say "can't we just photoshop it?"
