What kind of camera do you use ?
I currently use the SAME OLD ASS Kodak camera I've been using since I been snapping NIKON D70. Just got that bish !
Do you operate HYPE PHOTOGRAPHY by yourself ?
yessirrr, one woman movement, by myself.
What are your rates ?
depends. the normal rate (if its one person, locally is 120/session). rates go higher if I have to travel and whatnot.
How long have you been in the business ? What inspired you to get into it ?
I been "in the business" for about a year now, but I've been takin shots since about 2001-2002, thats when I realized I loved photography. I always loved it, but never knew it. When I was small, I would always look at pictures. Fuck toys, I wanted to look at the pictures on the toybox. I thought that was cooler than the toy itself. As I grew older, I would study the photojournalism in the Times Picayune, learning about perspective, composition and all. I still have a lot to learn (lighting, etc), but I came a far way, seeing that I never took a class for this.
How can I go about gettin a photoshoot ?
First, let me know you're interested, LOL. It's as easy as sending me a message on myspace. I dont give out my number, seeing that I'm never home anyway, so myspace is the best way to contact me. Then we'd meet for a pre-shoot consultation, where we discuss concepts, scheduling, etc and 75% is due at that time. The other 25% is due when you recieve your photography, which is usually in 2 days.
What type of people do you like to work with ?
I like to work with anyone positive, stylish, photogenic, which is on average, models, artists, and above-average people. I enjoy my job and I mos def enjoy the people.
What do you ultimately want to do with HYPE PHOTOGRAPHY ?
take it to the top !!!! I mean, my passion is photojournalism, but God might have other plans for me. I just snap whatever I can. But I just want to travel, take pictures to record my life. I would LOOOOVE to work for a Hip Hop magazine, such as The Source, Ozone, or even Complex. I'm a girl, but I read that ! Plus my style embodies urban culture. I also have a notebook full of concepts for clothing as well, all I have to do is bring it to life.
Personally........
I'm a crazy, fun, dope person. Yes, I am hard-headed, No I CANNOT act like I have sense. I am a magnet for every type of person, because I can relate to anyone. I'm percieved as stuck up by those who don't know me, simply because if I don't know you, then I don't acknowldge you. All you have to do to change your perception of me is ACKNOWLEDGE ME FIRST, and you'd realize what you previously thought about me was bullshit. I love GOD, I love the life He gave me, can't complain at all, esp. because I know He has even MORE in store for me, and thats why I keep doing it. I'm often mad when I see someone stole a pic or idea from me, but at the end of the day, it makes me realize two things :
1. People are watchin my every move (exposure)
2. I set the trends they follow (originality)
