June 16, 2009 - Tuesday
Well, this is my first blog post since my mother passed away on May 26th. I would like everyone to know that I read EVERY SINGLE comment, message, etc. and appreciate all of your love and support that you have given my family. We are doing very well.

On the morning of Tuesday, June 26th my mom went to be with the Lord as friends and family gathered around her. She held on for a while, but we all continued to talk to her and express our love, and told her that it was ok for her to go and that we would see her again.

My mom had requested that her funeral service be held on a Saturday so that all of her old students would not miss school. (She was a 5th grade teacher.) So, that Saturday we had her funeral service at our church. Hundreds of people filled the church. My mom touched so many lives, and they all came to celebrate hers. The funeral procession was estimated at about a mile and a half to two miles long. That is simply amazing. I am not surprised, though. My mom was an amazing woman who, as a close friend said during the service, "lived herself to death." She did not let cancer stop her from thoroughly living her life.

The next week, my sister graduated from 5th grade as Valedictorian of her 5th grade class! She is such a smart girl. I am so proud. After the graduation, I was sure to text several friends and family to tell them about her awesome success. Oh! She also got a perfect score on all of her state tests (TAKS). How awesome is that?! I know my mom is so proud.

Last week, I went to church camp. It was amazing. God definitely moved me, and assured that He is going to take care of me, and I felt closer to Him than ever.

Next Thursday, June 25th I am going to be a part of an AWESOME show with Bryan White. It will be held at Fellowship Bible Church Dallas. I hope you can make it out. All of the details are on my page.

Thank you again for your continued love, support, and prayers. I love you and appreciate you all.

Britt, You are a true inspiration. you mom was a wonderful person who no matter what was definitely there for her family. She couldn't have been any prouder. continue to keep up the good work kiddo and have fun in Honduras! What fun will that be! this will give you some more material to write about and through that, your relationship with God will continue to grow and strengthen with each passing day. one thing I see in you is Deena; because she truly lives in your life everyday.

I am glad you and your family are doing well-you surely have been in my thoughts and prayers. Reading what you wrote made me smile Brittnee. Your mom is with the Lord but she also is still with you inside. Your mom certainly did touch so many lives and nice you had the funeral on a Saturday. Not wanting the students to miss school, shows how much she liked teaching. Congratulations to Kaylee-you should be proud of her, I am to and I am proud of you Brittnee-always have been and always will be. A perfect score on the TAKS-awesome indeed and yes your mom is smiling. God will take care of you and your family. I know you will have fun with Bryan White at the show. Please just keep on living yourself and know how proud I am of you. Keep enjoying life and what it has to offer you. Please take care and bless you always.

Your friend,
Ron

Britt,
As I read this blog, I can see so much of your mom in you. I am so proud of both you girls, at how you were with your mom,at the visitation & then at her service. I know she is smiling down from Heaven, pointing to you both & telling all who walk by, "That's my girls. Aren't they great? "
You are an awesome young lady & I love ya! Please tell Kaylee, ( Miss Priss) that I am proud of her school accomplishments, & that I love her too!
I can't tell you what it means to hear about your walk with the Lord. I continue to pray for you & your family daily. ALways know that I am here.
 I love you!
Renate
