Officially, Chilean Metal quintet Raining was formed back in 1999 - in for the kill offering awesome 'songs of steel' to the masses with their mission number one. First song ever made by these guys was called 'Game Of Death' - added to the song list of Raining's first official demo... to been reported, a first effort conquering the heart and soul of each and every Metal maniac with a good taste. Members left - new blood came in (you know the story), finally Raining found a bunch of excellent musicians that were ready to put this band name of the map for sure. Our search on the net (especially via myspace) for great Metal bands led to Raining - in spite of the fact never heard of these guys, I'm so damn happy they answered my request to work something out. An honour for Metal To Infinity spreading the word of such a fantastic Metal formation. With pleasure, I'd like to share my thoughts with all of you concerning their debut album ''Pain Machines''.

Actually released in 2006, this independent output is so amazing to me... I hardly couldn't believe me ears first time I checked the album out. All the elements that I personally expect from an excellent album were present. If your heart pounds for Heavy / Power or Speed Metal inspired by the 80s tradition, you won't believe what you hear. Twelve compositions in the most pleasant way of Metal music, Raining's ''Pain Machines'' makes me feel real good. Vocals in the vein of John Connelly (Nuclear Assault) or godly Alan Tecchio (Hades, Power, Watchtower, Seven Witches,...) - professional frontmen delivering breathtaking, high pitched vocal lines... point is that Raining's frontman is able to use his voice on an 'quite identical' manner too. Be sure that you won't hear me complain about all of this - on the contrary, it's superb over and over.

Loads of outbursting power will be unleashed very professionally, be ready for a rollercoaster ride of explosive guitar rhythms, solo's, breaks, speed accelerations... just name it - Raining plays it all in a top-notch way. This album consists out of different compartments ranges from Speed Metal to pure Classic US Heavy / Power Metal - from time to time I even hear slices of NWOBHM too. Everything is up and running on ''Pain Machines''. I can but only claim that this effort has surprised me mercilessly on all areas. Such a great Metal album done by a very potential band - once again, my disbelief these guys to be not yet approached by a major record label is sincere...
