So for those of you who do not know I am in a metal band called Silent Bliss. Yes, me, that lovable little child who would never think of doing anything wrong or illegal. (At least that's what I tell myself, it makes me feel all nice and warm inside). Anyways, I play that scary dark music with the screaming vocals and loud guitars. It's the music I love to play and being in a metal band here at the office can be interesting at times. For I am surrounded by old skool jams and Britney Spears, which can be a liberating experience. It makes me realize how much the music I play and listen to differs from that of my coworkers. Yet, this is not a bad thing, for I learned something: that everyone seems to wish that they were living back in the eighties. Now for me that would be a horrible thing, for if I were to listen to metal back then, my hair would have more products in it then every female in this office, and I would have so many drugs in my system that they could use my blood as a painkiller. So I am thankful for being here in this time period. I don't want to dress up in chicks clothes or do drugs in some hotel room on the Sunset Strip, I just want to play the music that I love to play.
Now with all that being said let me tell you about our last show. Now we were playing with a death metal band from Sweden called Dark Funeral. Now these fine gentlemen are about 6'5 and weigh at least 250 and feel that it is necessary to paint there faces with black and white face paint. I don't know why, they had such beautiful facial features. Now my band is just a group of guys just gong up on stage to play some music. (Lets just say we stuck out a little), and we played our set. I wanted to paint my face like Peter Criss of KISS to fit in with the Dark Funeral guys, but I didn't think they would like that too much. So we played our set and got a great reaction from the crowd. They didn't care how we looked or acted on stage, they just cared about the music. That's why music is great, because it doesn't matter what you look like, if its good, its good and that's what matters. So Fred and Nicole, please continue to listen to your 80's jams, I don't look down upon you for listening to them, I've accepted the fact that you guys are a little "different" from everyone else and that is all right.
