I don't think I was as pissed off at Kerry and his supporters as I am Obama and his supporters who take people like me, of my race, my life experience, my viewpoint and brush us off as corrupted by the Republican Party.

Here's the last message I got from an Obama Supporter (mind you... she sent this to me twice... copying and pasting a heart filled message isn't heart filled you dumb idiot)

It's obvious you've surrounded yourself, either by choice or blood, by staunch Republicans. I feel much luckier than you, as I have the best of both worlds, with a Republican father and Democratic mother. Being too extreme cuts you off from getting to know, those who don't 'think' like you....

When you step outside the 'box' to think, you'll discover the universe!

Good luck on your journey Ali!

What's got me so worked up?

I have worked hard to have friends of every viewpoint. I have not made all the sacrifices in my dignity and been humiliated at times to hold a view just to put an elephant on my chest.

I'm ashamed to call some of these type of liberals Americans.

I'm half black. I'm half Arab. My dad left when I was two. My mom focused on surviving and gave us what she could. I helped raise my two little brothers as we were latchkey children. I was given the oppurtunity to explore different religions, political ideologies, and every practice of life out there. I hold many views contrary to the base of my party. I've personally been to hell and back and this little girl wants to brush off my viewpoint as inside the box?

Here's a first: Shove it!

"If they took 5 minutes to EDUCATED themselves" thats ironic; but Ali you're right and that is sad but idoits lie on both sides of the rug like the conservatives saying I only support Obama because he is black. It could not be because of the War on Terror, the Occupation of Iraq, the economy....etc

Ali, read the following poem called IF:

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!

--Rudyard Kipling

It's funny you write that poem, because whenever anyone asks me what I want to be when I grow up, I reply: a man. I've always loved that poem. People assume that all boys become men. Definitely not so.

Ali, it always angers me to see the Republican party tagged as the ignorant party. If an unbiased observer looks past all the name-calling and mudslinging, it is the Republicans who are truly the open-minded individuals of the American political process. Not all of them, and not always, but more times than not, Republicans are more willing than Democrats to compromise and legislate for the good of the nation.

It is a brave thing to stand by one's convictions. I have a favorite phrase I'll throw your way: "If everyone is happy when you speak to them, you're lying to somebody." Anytime we make a decision to make a stand we take the chance that there will be those who oppose us. The true strength comes out when we continue to stand by our beliefs despite the chagrine, chastisement, and disappoval of others. You are the only one who has to look at yourself in the mirror every morning. I admire your courage in standing by your convictions.

I think these liberals and their "opinions" that they so gladly throw out there, even when their opinions are FAR from welcomed are becoming absolutely ridiculous.
It sickens me that I see so many young black people who are screaming for B. Hussein Obama because.. why? He's black. That's the only reason these young children and young adults are voting for him. Oh, and let's not forget those pretty little speeches that he doesn't even write. He's good at that.
Am I the only person who's noticed that liberals will distinctly go out of their way to insult a conservative, they'll go out of the way to "argue" or debate with a conservative; and they don't even debate. They scream, yell, get vulgar and violent.. why? They're becoming extremely bold, and I think it's time that we, as young conservatives, become bold as well.
After all, we can only put up with so much.

I'm with you Ali. I know how you feel. I know from experience (as do you) that some people will bash you (or praise you) for not sticking 100 percent to your party platform. And from the other side some will bash you for not jumping on their wagon.....we've all seen our share of naive and arrogant garbage from either side. Don't let it get to ya, my friend, there is no shortage of jackasses these days ;).

The issue is what is right or wrong according to everything we each have ever learned in life---we must decide for ourselves, and it's the merit and the virtue of the position that matters....not how many other people are for or against the same thing....regardless if they are from your party or someone else's.

Keep up the good work and keep thinking for yourself Ali--it's part of the reason I like you. Never back down from something you know is right even if the whole world is wrong, and I for one will stand with you.
