This is my friend Paige's blog. After the blog, at the bottom, will be my comment to her blog. Read it all if you are interested or concerned about society's problems.

Blog:
if your gonna take the time to read this;; then take the time to commnt what you think about it.

lets get one thing clear, i honestly dont care who you are or whats going on in your life right now. people do some stupid shit that is so pointless. i know that most people who read this probably are to young to care, but people and animals die everyday. most of them are not dieing from reasons that cant be stopped but from reasons that can.
examples:

-texting while your driving

-talking on the phone while your driving

-drunk,buzzed,or stoned while your driving

-guns and gangs

-not paying attention to who or what is around you

-for clothes or sale purposes

-for food

-pollution*

now i know what your all thinking, "for food ? dont you eat animals too?" yes i do. but at least i care about the animals and i do not like eatting meat. i can tell you right now i wish i didnt have to.
but i do ):

now all the other reasons except pollution, which ill get to in a sec, could stop right now, today this second. if every one in this world could just care about everyone else a little more than them selves then we could live in a better world. the only reason people do anything listed above is from pure stupidness. and i know that im not any better than anyone else in this world, but when i get older i have promised myself to never do something that would endanger someone elses life. you've already wasted time by reading this so take like five more mins and think just think about how you would feel if someone you cared about died because of one of thoses stupid reasons. and if someone has then you know what im talking about, and im sorry.

okay so pollution. im not asking anyone to stop driving or whatever i dont even know. but pollution is getting wayyyyy outta hand. all the polar bears are being forced to swim to alaska because WE are melting their ice burgs. and for what reason ? to make things a little more convenent for ourselves. wtf. but also its not just the polar bears its alot of other animals too.
uhhh

so if you ever see me, and go wow she looks pissed off. or wow shes depressed. or wow she has no friends. get over your selves. i look how i look because i have realized that our entire planet is fucked up. and there is no hope left for human beings. everyone lies to get what they want, and everyone would kill someone else if it ment there life would be easier.

i will be different, i promise you that.

----------------------------------------------------------------

i must address something my friend colin said;;

if you do care about all of this stuff and feel similar to how i do about it, then i respect you a great amount and you are one of the few decent people left in this world.
thanks for caring about someone other than yourself :D

My Comment:

I agreed with Colin. Sorry, but not everyone doesn't care. Unfortunately, you can't get 6.5 billion people to start caring about all that stuff, because there's a lot more to worry about. Half of all those people have to worry about surviving first (world hunger) and keeping alive (global healthcare). There's a lot of things we must do, but we just can't.

As much as we want to matter individually, each one of us just don't matter to the big guys who are really in control. And sure, we can begin to make a difference, each one of us, but changing the world is just impossible without a collective effort. I don't mean collective as in a couple hundred people working together, or even thousands. We have to go to the millions to start noticing anything remarkable.

I think it's time for a change. Which also brings into politics. The government is our power. It is our strength, but right now it's our weakness. People who want a change should vote for Obama. But that's my opinion, and I should keep this comment as unbiased as possible.

Oh yeah, did you hear? New studies' results actually contradict global warming theory. Methane levels in the atmosphere simultaneously rose globally between the northern and southern hemispheres. Normally, global warming would cause the southern hemisphere's methane levels to rise only a year after the northern hemisphere where methane is produced because it takes a year for it to go around. It suggests that the Earth really is just going through its own natural cycle, and that it's happened many times in the past. Just a little scientific thing. The polar bears aren't dying because of us, and we really can't control that. It's the Earth and nature. Blame God if you must be religious. We as humanity are not in control of harming the animals and the environment in terms of global warming. But then again, we're sure contributing a little bit. I don't even know what side to listen to myself, and I change views about this all the time.

Again, not everyone doesn't care. You'll be surprised how many people want a solution for all these things. You'll be surprised how much people actually care. You may have lost hope for humanity, and you have a reason to do so, but I think there's still enough time.

I think we all want to do something about everything. We just don't have the power to manipulate the global society into making a significant difference. We've done our part, but it's just not enough. We can't sacrifice everything. We can't have everything. But we can do something to save a couple more lives and kill a little bit less, starting with your first couple examples. Sure a lot of people die that way, but a lot more people die in many other ways. People starve to death every minute for example. Diseases kill people unreasonably all the time. People die. Animals die. It's just the way the world runs. I don't want you to accept it and move on, so I'm glad you're realizing this as a teenager. It took decades for society to figure that out.

You know what the reason for all this? Energy crisis, animal cruelty, Iraqi War, everything you can possibly think of?

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ MONEY $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

The prospect of money. Humanity runs on money, and the easier it is to obtain, the better it is for the benefit of ourselves, even if we have to sacrifice things like being humane to animals.

And girl, only mentally messed up people would kill someone to make their life easier. That's just not the way people work, and it's not logical to think that it does. It's just wrong. A regular Bob or Joe would not randomly shoot some guy to steal his briefcase with a million dollars, no matter how easy that would make his life. It also seems like you believe that everyone is wrong and everyone is stupid and everyone harms other people and animals and everyone is guilty and wrong and everyone is greedy EXCEPT yourself. Or do you think humanity in general, including yourself, is responsible? If you think that everyone is wrong but yourself, that way of thought will not get you anywhere.

I'm sorry. I'm not here to criticize you, because I agree with many of your points. I don't hate you either. I'm glad you spoke up. I don't mean to sound hateful or angry or anything at all. My current mood is calm and respectful and unbiased and to the point. I'm only trying to share my ideas.

If you just read all that (I think I wrote more than you), then congratulations. I hope that at the least, I have made you think a bit more. I think you have a lot to learn. We all have a lot to learn. I'm not attempting to control your mind, I'm letting you think for yourself. Feel free to lose hope for humanity, but keep your reasons factual (which you're doing very well anyway). While the root of the problem could be thought of as humans, we all have to live somehow on this planet, and we can't go back to pre-Industrial Revolution times. Back when we didn't have problems. Because that's just impossible, and you know it.

I'll do what I can, but I'm just one of 6.5 billion people. I don't matter. Each one of us don't matter. No one matters. But together, everyone matters, and that's the only way we'll see something happen.

It's 4:23 AM, it's time for me to sleep. I hope I got you thinking a bit more.
