Got a couple of updates on my blog

I decided to start blogging here instead.

Last time I blogged my great aunt had died the day before.  Well, just now I got the call that her husband, my great uncle died.  I think it truly was him dying from a broken heart as he and my tia had been married about 63 years.

Unfortunately, as much as it pains me not to, I won't be able to make it back to Phoenix for the funeral but my mom is going back so keep her in your thoughts as she's taking it hard.

My great aunt died yesterday :(  Ever since then I've been thinking about all the times I'd visited her and she'd just grab a hold of my face and give me a kiss or something like that.  When I was a kid I used to think, "Eww, old lady germs."  But now I'm like wow, she really liked me or something. I guess that happens when you grow up.

She was really awesome, always feeding me as if I was starving or something.  And of course, her playful lecture when she found out I smoke and drink still cracks me up to this day.

Last night my old college gossip partner Marisa and her fiancee Sean stopped by and spent the night on their way to Ohio.  It was really great seeing Marisa, hard to believe we hadn't seen each other in almost 10 years!  We stayed up all night doing what we did best back in the day, gossiping about boys and all our old friends.  It was so much fun!  Thanks for stopping by girl, love ya!

Gah, my Dad is so damn dumb! Today we went to pay our bills n stuff. We stop at the Cingular store to pay our cell phone bill (We are on a family plan), well I stayed in the car while he was in the store. Some 20 minutes later he came back out and he'd signed up for DSL and unlimited long distance on our land line I pay for as our emergency phone. I about lost it on dear old Dad. We need neither of these things because we already have a cable modem and we have unlimited minutes on our cell phones after 7 PM. I can't believe he believed the sales person when he/she/it said DSL was faster than a cable modem. I love him, but he's so gullible. If I didn't know that he'd asked my mom to get married all those years ago, she coulda tricked him into it by lying that she was pregnant. I'm not talking to any tech for him when he calls tech support when it starts to fuck up on him. He's on his own!

My mom and I spent the week in New Orleans visiting my dad who has been working there for about the past month and a half.  It was a rather fun time although it was hot and I was drunk for a good portion of the trip.  The few pics I took are here.  I've got to get better at this pic taking thing!
