Sorry for the lack of posting but the internet was very expensive in Sorrento (1.50 euro for 15 min) and so I was just online for a few min to send emails one day.

The Sorrento experience can be summed up quickly and in the form of a warning to all who travel there. 

Don't get drunk on your last night!

the bus ride out of Sorrento has lots of twists and turns on the top of a steep cliff.  Virtigo and Hangover don't mix.

Today was our first day in Rome and all I can say is.....WOW

Amazing.

mom I have to buy you 2 things because I left the first one at the hotel in Ravenna oops!

We are in Florence now, and a good thing that is because Ravenna was pretty boring.  Mosaic, Mosaic, Mosaic........

We made our way to the train station at 7:15 this morning  (1 am back home I think) and our first stop was in Bologna.  The train was a double decker, but despide that size there was not much room for luggage so we just crammed it into seas the beast we could.  I was stuck facing the back of the train which had the effect of making me feel like I was going to throw up the rest of the day.

GREAT!

oh well, our next train was of the Hogwarts Express variety and it was fun going through the tuscan hills and mountains while imagining that the guy with the candy cart was selling chocolate frogs.....oh ya....I'm a huge dork still.

When we got to Florance everything was closed for siesta, so I slept for 5 hours until dinner which was very very good.  First course was pasta with pesto then some grilled veggies for 2nd course then real Itallian ice for dessert.
