Just want everyone to know that we will be posting pictures, newspapers and broadcasts for all three weeks of SSI on our web site over the next few weeks. You can check it out by visiting www.ssi-online.org. Also, in case you didn't know, I send an email every two weeks about the SSI happenings year round, so if you want to be added to the list, just send an email to me at james@ssi-online.org and put the words "subscribe to FF" in the subject line.
Keep the faith, keep praying dangerous prayers and keep in touch.

Jeff Visscher and I just finished an interview with a young lady who is interested in becoming an intern with Student Statesmanship Institute. She attended our Onsite Program this spring and is excited about coming on board with us for the summer. That got me thinking! Do you recognize any of these SSI alumni? Hannah King, Charlie Rivard, Michael Jefferies, Christina Handrich, Katie Stanfield, Nate Sisson, Ashley Saltsman, Rebakkah Serra and Quinn Harr all served as interns either for SSI or Citizens for Traditional Values. Over the years Michael, Christina, Katie and Ashley went on to become employees of the organization along with other SSI alums Amy Hawkins, Emily Muffett and Becky Britten. In addition to all the other alums out there doing great things, it is an awesome privilege to be able to actually work alongside some of them in the office. Keeps us young!! We are always looking for interns. If anyone is interested, you can check it out at http://www.ssi-online.org/alumni/internship.shtml.

Did anyone watch the Presidential debate last night? The evolution question has created a buzz around the nation. Check out this article http://www.pharostribune.com/opinion/local_story_134101610.html. A high ranking politician called me this morning bemoaning the fact that none of the leading candidates even came close to answering the question properly. He said, "James, do you realize that they all butchered their answers?" He went on to say that his answer would have been, "Of course nature changes over time, but I simply do not subscribe to the assertion that my ancestors were gorillas." I always like to refer to logic by asking whether anyone really believes that the incredible complexity of life could have been produced by chance. What do you think should have been the response?

My oldest son Chris is attending the Bible College of Wales (http://www.biblecollegeofwales.org/) in Great Britain this year. It's all good. For those of you who know him, you might remember that he likes to push the envelope sometimes and he's not one to refuse a dare. Recently, he served as a counselor for a youth camp and near the end of the week he decided to fulfill a promise to eat a live goldfish. Watch the attempted feat here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jsuj1Mya1Pg. Enjoy!

Here's some very interesting news. For those of you who remember Nate Kaczmarek from SSI in the late 90's, he's now running for Mayor of St. Clair Shores, Michigan. The election, against an incumbent, will be held this fall. Nate is out there knocking on doors and raising money. The campaign kick-off is on May 17. Here's the web site - www.vote-nate.com. Pretty cool stuff!!
