HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! Ok, I’m technically late to welcome in 2009 but I feel like the year is just starting for me. Like much of the country I’m feeling good, revived and ready for change. On Saturday my oldest and I had the pleasure of being in attendance at the local stop of the "Whistle Stop Tour".
(Yes it was as cold as it looks! I'm not even going to front, I couldn't feel my toes when I got back home.) I tried to gather some more people to come with me but when they thought about the 20 degree tempertures they punked out on me. Suckas. lol I figured that if people are coming literally from all over the world to see Obama in person, the VERY least I could do was take a 20 minute ride downtown to see him. Though it ice box cold outside we loved every minute of it. Everyone we came in contact with was extra-friendly, teary-eyed and/or jumping with excitement. For a minute some folks were doing The Electric Slide was "Ain’t No Stoppin’ Us Now" while it was pumping out of the loud speakers. *smh* (I have some video footage of that, that I’ll upload later.) I’d never seen anything like it. I will never forget that day and I'm sure Inaugration Day is going to be indescribable especially at the Capital. For all the folks that are choosing to say in town tomorrow but still want to rock out here's some local events to celebrate this wonderful day: INAUGURATION VIEWING AT THE NATIONAL AQUARIUM
Tuesday, January 20, visitors to the National Aquarium can view a live broadcast of President-Elect Barack Obama inauguration in the 4-D Immersion Theater. Escape the cold and celebrate this historic day at the Aquarium! Aquarium doors open at 10 am, and paid visitors will be invited to fill the theater’s 225 seats on a first-come, first-serve basis. Find out more at www.aqua.org/obama. INAUGURATION VIEWING AT THE CONVENTION CENTERPresidential Inauguration Viewing featuring Baltimore’s own Paula Campbell and other local talent. Baltimore Convention CenterOne West Pratt Street-21201 Tuesday, January 20, 2009 Doors open at 10 a.m. Official program starts at 11 a.m. Join Marc Clarke formerly of 92Q and the great youth of this City to view the 44th Presidential Inauguration. Celebrate “history in the making” with family and friends. Pay tribute to the nation’s first African American President, Barack Obama. This event FREE and open to the public. WATCH THE INAUGURATION AT THE PRATT
The Enoch Pratt Free Library invites the public to join together to watch the live broadcast of the Inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States. On Tuesday, January 20, a 100 square foot screen will be set-up in the historic main hall of the Central Library. The swearing-in is scheduled to start at noon, but come early to guarantee a seat for the live broadcast. 400 Cathedral Street. For more information, visit www.PrattLibrary.org. A NEW BEGINNING IN AMERICAJanuary 20 History will be made when President elect Barack Obama officially takes office. Enjoy a Kamashibai story time that honors our country and participate in a special drumming activity. Port Discovery Children's Museum, www.portdiscovery.org ^Since Baltimore City School are CLOSED for I-Day (woo hoo!) this will probably be a good one for the kids to enjoy. I’m not going to waste space on this blog on random sillyness(this time!). Instead I’ll just wish you all a late HAPPY MLK DAY and an early HAPPY INAUGURATION DAY! Yes, I’m acting as if tomorrow is a national holiday. In my next blog I’ll recap my favorite Christmas gifts , how I rocked in 20-10 and make an unbelievable announcement . Trust me it’ll be a shock and it’s sooooo exclusive that I just might post it for my VIP (Preferred List) peoples. Peace! P.S. Before I forget super CONGRATS to Jill Scott, Kelis, and Kimora Lee Simmons! All are reported to be pregnant! Great news, huh?

Hey peeps!
My bad for the delay in blog entries. I guess the Holiday season has me gleefully distracted. One of these days I'll be able to post regularly like the authors of my favorite blogs/journals… one of these days.
For providing me with belly aching laughter, this blog is dedicated to the Iraqi reporter that hurled his shoes at our soon-to-be-Ex Prez during a "farewell" visit to Baghdad. LMAO

http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/meast/12/14/bush.iraq/index.html
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o15COlLrfcI&feature=related
Didn't know members of the press could bring the ruckus, did ya? Maybe I'm mistaken but I thought farewells events were supposed to be held in places where you're actually liked. "Dub-Ya" seemed pretty amused at the incident. I guess he was relieved that they only threw shoes instead of grenades. If the US ever gets an Olympic Dodgeball team, Dub-Ya could definitely be team captain!
Oh, here's some local news that I came across that made me smile :
Baltimore City schools to close for Inauguration Day http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/education/k12/bal-inauguration1210,0,3834764,print.story
Also for the B-More peeps that want to witness history :
Obama to arrive in Washington by train (last stop is Baltimore) http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081215/ap_on_go_pr_wh/obama_inauguration_1
Yall Barack-a-manics can have the Capital; I may be camped out in Penn Station instead!
In totally unrelated news, congrats to Usher on the birth of his 2nd son, Naviyd Ely Raymond, on Wednesday, December 10th, at 2:33 a.m., weighing 5 pounds, 13 ounces, http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1601175/20081211/usher.jhtml I'm not sure how to pronounce his name. Maybe it's like David with a "n".
Super shoutouts to ShellBe and Kelly!!! Though brief, it was soooo nice to have breakfast with you two over the weekend. I'm still in amazed about some of the updates with dropped on each other. I'm really looking forward to the Ladies Night in the future. Forget the deceased Hip Hop scene; we'll have a BALL where ever the hell we go. Yall KNOW how we do!
Welp, based on my recent track record this may be the last blog of the season/year for me. If it is
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Hey peoplez!
Enjoy your Turkey Day? My grandmother and cousins put their foots all up in some food! In addition, to the amazing eats it's great to be close to family. Since my only relatives in B-more are my mother and my kids, I really look forward to seeing my peeps up 'North whenever I can. Right now, I'm sitting in Jersey but instead of savoring some of last night's leftovers I'm bulching up the White Castle that me and hubby made a special trip to get. Getting a sack of Slyders from White Castle has become a ritual for us when we come up. Though the belly is feelin' good right now I'll be hiding from my scale until well into the New Year.
Speaking of the New Year, I was looking a my bwoy Danj's blog(HappyBelated again!) and it made me think about the how I'll be turning 20-10 soon (I'm not quite ready to say 30). Waving goodbye to my 20's is a pretty big damm deal, when I think about it. After your 20's it's pretty hard to blame stuff on being "young and dumb". When being stupid in your 20's you can use the excuse of lack of inexperience or immaturity. However when being stupid in your 30's no matter what excuse you try to us, you'll be looked at as stupid and "old enough to know better"... And you know I'm right.
Approaching 20-10 has also made me think of grown-up stuff like having a good job to retire from. Recently, I landed a position at a fairly successful international company. It's the type of joint that offers good benefits, paid vacations/holidays, retirement plans, stock investment options, and etc. All the good but boring stuff I wasn't pressed with in my early days. I should be set, right? Well, I feel like I'm falling into that blackhole of the daily grind that billions of people are stuck in and 30 years from now I'll be waking up wondering where my REAL life went. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for everything. I truly am. But I can't front, it's weird to see my life turning into a family sitcom. I'm that chick that used to be at the Paradox every Friday dancing 'til the lights came on and security literally pushed us out at 5am. I'm that chick that got in brawls at Choices and can't even remember what I was fighting for. I'm that chick that remembers the old Hammerjack's closing, being there to see the new open and seeing that one close too. lol ... Nowww, I'm also that lady that cooks for the fam while listening to Jeopardy and complaining about my kids' friends calling during dinnertime. Yikes!
Though I'm resisting getting old I'd rather accept my age appropiate life changes than hold on some parts of my past that I should let go. I'll still be ME, of course. I'll still love my music, partying and cutting up. Grown folks get down too! I've seen proof of that at Silver Shadows, Melba's and family events. lol Twenty-ten definitely doesn't mean the end of Jaye but I'm not quite sure what it's the beginning of. I'll keep you posted. Isn't it funny that when we were younger we are so anxious to be 'grown'...
Off subject but I have to confess that I've regularly been tuning into two 'reality' shows that are straight trash. Oddly, they both have "Real" in the titles but the people on these show are totally unreal.
1) The Real Housewives of Atlanta

Why are the wives the most drama-filled and ridiculous spenders but the husbands, the primary money makers, were the most level-headed people on the show. I'll give them a benefit of a doubt and blame editing for the footage they use. BUT did you see the Reunion show? Edited or not it was a piping hot mess. I don't care what anyone says the real star of this show is the '6th Housewife', Dwight!
Word has it that Dwight is getting a makeover type show on Bravo soon.
2) Real Chance of Love

Honestly, the show is awful with a capital A-W-F-U-L but I find myself watching weekly. Maybe I'm mostly interested in how feminine they can make Real and Chance's hair every episode. Actually the brothers arent bad looking but I don't think I could compete for the affection of a dude with gelled down baby hairs and/or spiral curls cascading down the middle of his back. Props to their hair dresser though.
Ciao

Rarely do I discuss any issues with my private life but I just need to blow off some steam and something tells me I'll need to look back at this one day.
Friday night, my husband did a jackass move that I should still be fuming about. That was the night of a local music event called Baltimore Crown. I've been out of the local scene for a minute now but thanks to coaxing from ChinYer(hey, hey!), I figured it'd be nice to check out some good music and surprise my old buddies by coming out. Since it was too late to make the usual outside babysitting arrangements, I let my hubby know of my intentions to go out later and began texting my pal, Kelly(hey, hey!) to see if she was going. Welp, my plans were soon pissed on when at the last minute my husband decides that he wants to hang out with a homeboy that he hangs out with allllll the time and go to a spot that they could go to any damm weekend, while I miss a once a year event. My natural instinct was to really show my azz but I took the high road by basically telling him what a dick he was being and to get the hell out. Haha With a hot head I texted Kelly back and sat at home like the old boring chick that I now am.
Things like this make my single friends shake their heads at me. Why even bother right? Well, I look at spouses like close relatives except you sleep with them. Yeah they can be the biggest fukkin' jerks in the world but you have to look at the big picture. When you really need it, they'll go the extra mile when other folks won't move an inch. If you remember those times that your sweetie has had your back, that'll keep you from going 'upside their head…well, in most cases.
That Saturday while I snuck in an early afternoon nap, he ran out got us some delicious take out and made an extra stop to get me a Frutista Freeze, just because. Awww… He got out of the doghouse but he's still in the yard. (I also have a theory about him fattening me up but that's another blog. haha)
On Sunday just when I was getting over my hubby's dickheadedness, I was running late for brunch with friends when he informs me that the gas tank is on "E". Muthhhaaafukkka! *deep breathe* I flashed him my patented mean mug but was running too late to fuss. He still got a smooch on the way out the door. It was a half azzed smooch but a smooch nonetheless. After the detour to the gas station I zoomed up to Towson to meet up with friends, a fellow married one, an engaged one and a single one. Good balance, right? I think all people need to talk to others that they can relate to BUT still talk to people living different lives. Keeps me open-minded yet grounded. (Oh the renovations to Towson Town Center are unbelievable, BTW. Big up to the new Cheesecake Factory! )
When I returned to the rowdiness of home I was exhausted but it felt good to see my family. It was even nice to see my hubby's jughead.
Moral of the story is humans aren't perfect, even the ones you love. Sometimes it's best to let the silly sh!t go and keep the small battle from becoming an unnecessary war. After all, there might be a million little things about YOU that they are letting go.
Take care peeps!
P.S. R.I.P to 92Q's Big Phat Morning Show, BET's Rap City and Roy Jones Jr.'s boxing career.

Hey hey now!
You all know that my blog entries are about any and everything. By no means am I trying to step into the arena of celebrity news blogging. Honestly, I just can't keep up with all the late breaking gossip. I've heard Perez Hilton say he starts his blogging days at 4am. See, it's not THAT serious for me. However, these few days have been filled with surprising celebrity news. Again, this blog isn't for breaking any major stories, I'm just posting some stolen headlines that caught my eye. Some of it might be old news to you either way it's news:
First, many prayers to Jennifer Hudson and her family.

Her mother and brother were found shot to death in her mother's home today. Her 7 year old nephew is also missing. More info and a picture of the suspect, William Balfour, can be found at the link below. http://www.nbcchicago.com/news/entertainment/Mother_Brother_of_Actress_Jennifer_Hudson_Found_Dead.html
J-Hud was basically sitting on top of the world before today. Such a tragedy.
Prayers also to the home of Isiah Thomas.
It's being reported that a 47 year old man was rushed from his residence to the hospital after an accidental sleeping pill overdose. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/2008-10-24-ambulance-thomas_N.htm?csp=34
Representatives are not confirming that it is Isiah but they are not denying it's him either… Yeah ok. Get well soon, ISIAH!
Congrats to Lil Wayne on the birth of his son, Dwayne Carter III. (Little Weezy F. Baby Baby )
 http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20235191,00.html
The bundle of joy was born on Wednesday the 22nd in Cincinnati. Wayne first mentioned his son while receiving an award at the 2008 BET Awards. (The Awards was quite interesting by the way. After they gave Kat Williams the boot at the last minute, T-Pain stepped in as a surprisingly good host!) Anyway, NO! Wayne's son's mama isn't Nivea or Superhead. Apparently, it's a regular jane… well a 22 year old, half Vietnamese student named Sara B. (Don't quote me. Once again all of this is strictly grapevine.)
Speaking of Superhead, she didn't just have Wayne's baby but apparently she is having somebody's baby.
(See her website for the baby bump.) I also heard that it's Bow Wow's baby. WTF?! Since Superhead is a walking sperm shake, it'll take a visit to Maury for me to be totally convinced.
My, my, my... I'm not going to mention the rumored $150,000+ that supposedly went to Sarah Palin's appearance. Didn't I tell yall that she is dipped a couple blogs ago?! Look out for her at the judge's table on the next cycle of America's Next Top Model. (not really!)
A big backhand smack goes out to Lyfe Jennings!
 http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1597705/20081023/jennings_lyfe.jhtml
Homeboy was arrested after shooting at the police then crashing his car after a high speed car chase. Dammit, Lyfe! This makes me extra sad/pissed off because not only is he a talented artist but he's been locked up and seemed grateful to have the chance to change his life around. Didn't he say "30 is NOT the new 20, it's the same old 30"?
Lastly, SUPER SIZED backhand smack to that crazy bytch in Pittsburgh that lied about being robbed and having a B carved into her face because she's a McCain supporter.
 http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081025/ap_on_re_us/attack_mccain_sticker_21
I first heard about this story on a messageboard and instantly the sistas replied "She's lying!" and "This is a hoax". Well, sure enough this chick's story totally blew up in her face. Maybe I need my vision checked but that B looks more like burn or brand than a knife cut. We've all seen cuts the kind of cuts a knife does. They are usually indentations below the skin, right? Why is this 'cut' so smooth across her cheek? Secondly, that's a pretty nice B to be done during a quick street stick up, huh? Also, the B is backwards! I guess she thought we'd believe the robber had dyslexia. Or she didn't realize that intelligent people would probably figure out that she did it herself in the mirror, which is why it's backward to everyone else. *smh* ... Hmmm, CSI here I come!
I'm sorry but I can't leave my blog while talking about that psycho wench soooo, I'll end it with today's inspirational word from Joel Osteen. Maybe someone out there needs it:
Connect to Your Deliverer
Today's Scripture
"Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation!" (Habakkuk 3:17-18).
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
Habakkuk knew what to do when things seemed completely hopeless. His world was literally falling apart around Him. There was destruction every where he looked. But Habakkuk knew that God was bigger than his circumstances! So what did he do? He invited God into his circumstances by rejoicing and praising the Lord. He made the choice to be joyful knowing that it would connect him to the One who would deliver him!
Are you facing a situation that seems dark or hopeless? No matter how difficult things may seem, God has a plan to bring you out into a place of victory. Your praise is the bridge that will carry you into your land of promise. The Bible tells us that God inhabits the praises of His people, and when the presence of God manifests, the enemy has to flee!
The Bible also tells us that there is fullness of joy in His presence. His joy empowers us to walk through any difficulty we may be facing. No matter how things may seem in the natural, you can rejoice today because God is working behind the scenes on your behalf. As you praise Him, He will fill you with His joy and pour out His abundant blessing in every area of your life.
I couldn't have said it better myself!

Just a little while ago, I was chatting with a friend about our soon-to-be President Barack Obama. Though I'm optimistic the cautious side of me is scared for Barack's safety. My homie gave a hilarious prediction about what would happen if B is harmed.
Me: Hey [homie]! What's poppin'? Homie: Hey Jaye! Homie: I'm just chillin, glued to CNN Me: What's going on on CNN? [The baby] has the tv hostage with Yo Gabba Gabba. Homie: LMBAO Homie: Oh I'm just hooked on the presidential campaign news Me: This is an exciting time for us but I'm scared for Barack. Homie: Oh I'm not..... Homie: if something happens to him we will make 1960 look like a church picnic! Me: Homie: and I don't think America wants that
-- Convo snippet posted with my friend's permission. Hey gyrl! You are always on point! *hugs*
That was a funny analogy but I also think there would be Royal Rumbles across the country. Like I said I'm just being cautious but Barack is here to bring the much need change and I believe he'll do that without harm ... Have you all really sat back and thought about what we are about to witness? Wow! I mean seriously. God, my eyes are watering just thinking about it. And can you imagine what the Obama Inauguration Day will be like?!?! I'll probably be able to see the crowd from here in Bmore. Haha
While I'm on the subject did anyone else peep this nonsense?!:
 http://timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=728326
Yes, that says Barack OSama on the absintee ballot for the of Rensselaer County, NY *smh*
While the possibility of new leadership has me optimistic the new music scene continues to leave me confused. It seems like you have to have cheesy, Sci-fi sounding songs to get play. What do these songs all have in common? They're all pretty annoying but I'm actually feeling this annoying crap.
John Legend f/Andre 3000- Green Light http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5brurMQodM
Dre keeps it futuristicly funky while John manages to keep his bored drunken lounge singer tone. It works though!
Kanye – Love Locked Down http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vkYS2KNybek Can't you just tell that Brotha West is going through some stuff?! Homebwoy has been pouring his heart out lately. Let it out, Kanye. Let it out.
M.I.A. – Paper Planes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqlY0VOFtyA I heard somewhere this chick is supposed to be the hottest female in the Hip Hop game. I don't know about all that but this is oddly catchy. It's refreshing to hear something different.
Ok, this is when you know the word "Swagger" is dead and buried.

Old Spice Swagger? Oxymoron isn't it?
I know it's been a minute since I talked about my OOWE sisters. Mostly because we are all doing our own things (working, creating, loving our families, living life…)Though I know some would love to believe that we had a big falling out, that's just not that case (sorry haters). I'd like to take a minute to send kudos to my OOWE fam: Chin-Yer. Her and fellow band members, Natural Remedy. They have made it to the finals of the Battle of the Bands, which will take place on October 23rd. Hotness, right? Oh and Chin-Yer also mentioned having an OOWE networking table at the Baltimore Crown event in November. Any members can holla if interested. Also, kudos to Amotion, who is always making moves! Check her out in today's Baltimore Sun: http://www.baltimoresun.com/entertainment/custom/today/bal-to.beale14oct14,0,4079662.story?page=1
On a big girl greediness note, I'm slowly becoming addicted to Taco Bell's Frutista Freeze drinks.
 www.tacobell.com/frutistafreeze
They must be laced with strawberry and mango favored crack crystals or something. They definitely aren't just ice, fruit and fruit juice! Just peep the name of the drink. Notice how it's cleverly spelled F-R-U-T-I-S-T-A instead of F-R-U-I-T-I-S-T-A. Ahhhh, you sneaky bastards…. I still want one of them joints right now though.
Oh, due to scheduling delays my hub-hub and I opted to take a late Anniversary vacation so I'll see ya when I see ya!
Lata alligators.

The Presidential debate is over (Didn't McCain make you just want to kick his azz?! ), I can let my mind wander to random places.
Oddly, my mind came back to Politics. Well, not really. There will be a heatwave in Alaska before I vote for her but Sarah Palin is one fly bytch! Sure the stuff flying out of her mouth is azz backwards but her style is ova! Did yall see the suit and pumps that Ms. Thang was wearing during the Vice Pres. Debate? Fabulous, honey. *snaps* Palin will be the freshest loser on the block!
[Oh and you may be able to wear your tshirts and buttons to the polls on Election Day. See comments from the previous blog]
Why am I so into HBO's True Blood?!
This show is soooo, um, interesting! Yes, vampires surviving on synthetic blood while freely walking amongst humans is sheer ridiculousness. However while I'm watching the show a world like that seems totally normal. For that hour the lead character's ability to read thoughts and visions also seems ordinary. The one annoying part about the show is the preoccupation with sex. Come on now. I know vampires aint getting that much azz. haha
My Mini-Me and I were walking around the mall the other day, right? Quick question, Who the hell brought back peace signs???

There were peace signs everywhere (earrings, t-shirts, on purses, on hats...) Well, the effects of war could be bringing on the new Peace Movement. Or maybe the fashion powers that be have overdosed on skulls and did a total 180. Whatever the reason, peace is definitely 'in'. Mayn, I felt like I was thrown into a De La Soul video. What's old is new once again and again and again, huh?
Speaking of De La, what'd you think of VH1's Hip Hop Honors?

The Slick Rick, De La and Naughty by Nature tributes made us get off the couch. I loved hearing the history of how each honoree got their start in Hip Hop in addition to the performances. Even the Cyprus Hill segment had me nodding and I've never been a fan. The Too Short portion was hot garbage to put it nicely. While Bun B was 'honoring' him he watched on from the balcony like a pissed off husband at an opera during Monday Night Football. Even Short's guests looked like they wished they were somewhere else, ANY where else. That was just a low point of a great show. HHH '08 made up for VH1's bullshyt list of the 100 Greatest Hip Hop Songs. I truly love PE but I don't think it's a coincidence that "Fight the Power" is the no. 1 song on the same network that aired the Strange Love and Flavor of Love 1 & 2. Hmmm...
From Hip Hop to Heroes! Lawd, this show is like Red Bull for my eyes and mind. Week after week I'm left thinking of the possibilities and waiting on the edge of my seat for the next scene. I'm really lovin' how they are flipping the script by showing the bad sides to the 'good guys' and vice versa. I mean, when the show first began I would have never thought I'd be cheering for "Horn Rimmed Glasses" one day. BUT, I wasn't buying that bullshyt about Sylar being a nice loving father.
I'm sorry but I've seen him off too many people for me to forget all of that in one or two episodes. Speaking of Sylar, did you other Heroes fanatics notice that his son's name was Noah? Hmmm. Bennett doesn't seem to be around in the future… Peter is really turning out to be a true fukk up. His mother is setting him up to get served though. When I saw who Hiro and Ando dug out of the grave I gasped. Adam is supposed to be a bad guy but I like yo. I don't know if/how he'll make everything right again but I'm glad they brought him back. Ok, who is this mystery dude that's returning next week??? Is it Bob?
From my own geek chat to this geek right here:
 Ok, WTF?
Many parents of toddlers are familiar with DJ Lance Rock from Yo Gabba Gabba. It's good to see brothas in children's entertainment (a la Bill Cosby, Levar Burton, Larry Fishburne and that bald dude from Sesame Street…) but DJ Lance is a little bit disturbing. He reminds me of Arsenio Hall high on Magic 'Shrooms. Actually, the whole show is like a psychedelic drug trip… Well, not that I'd know. Anyway, Don't get me wrong. Yo Gabba Gabba is actually very entertaining and on occasion they even have segments with Biz Markie beatboxing (seriously).
5000!

What's shakin' sweeties? Just droppin' in to shoot the breeze before turning in...
Recently, I received this text message and had to share:
"DO NOT wear any Obama shirts, pins or hats to the polls on November 4th. It's considered campaigning; a law they're counting on us to break so you can't vote. Pass it on!"
I'm not even going to front like I'm knowledgeable when it comes to voting laws and etc. Truthfully, I don't know for sure if this is true but it doesn't hurt to take heed. Sidebar: Anyone else notice the 'round-the-way beauty supply/corner stores are selling Obama gear too.
*waving my geek flag*

I'm sure you all know what I was doing on Monday night. The return of my beloved show, Heroes, has been on my mind since. Random thoughts about the series priemer: Sylar resumed his position of pissing me off but I'm wondering if he's turning a new leaf after he gave Claire her scalp back. Peter… I don't know. He's just lost. His brother has been 'found'. And their mother, is seriously manning-up! My secret crush on Mohinder increased when his shirt came off

Him picking chunks of gooey skin off his back was not appealing though. Hiro was crazy hard-headed but I see where his heart is. Homebwoy really wants to save the world…over and over again! Oh and the Level 5 villians! I don't care what character he'll portray on Heroes, Jamie Hector will always be Marlo from the Wire. (haha)The fast running chick, the return of Claire's crazy biological mother and the African rock painting dude may be some interesting additions. Yes, I'm on the edge of my seat for next week's episode. I'm waiting to see what's up with Micah and his cousin. Speaking of relatives, did my ears deceive me or did Mrs. Petreilli s say she is also ___________'s mother too? Whoa baby!
This weekend I'm booked to go on a birthday casino trip with my mother. Honestly, I'm just happy to be getting away. I'm not much of a gambler. It's weird. I'll toss a bunch of quarters in a video game with absolutely no chance of winning any money back but, oddly, I'm leery about dropping those same quarters in a slot machine that COULD result in money in my pocket. Backwards as fukk, right? Maybe, I'll have a chance to play Tic-Tac-Toe versus a live chicken (real casino game). It doesn't get any more fun than that, right?
That reminds me. I know a lot of my viewers are subscribed to this blog (I love yall! ) and/or save the direct link to your Favorites folder (Love yall too! ) but take a minute to check out my profile. When you're bored, you can play a couple games and even ask my Magic 8 Ball some questions. Don't ever say I never did anything for you. Hmph!
Ummm... They call this NEWS?

DUH! I thought 'news' was something that the masses didn't already know.

Once again the annual Best of Baltimore party was a night fullied with freaks, geeks, party-animals and the most fabulous folks of our fine city.
I've made it clear that I don't like to publicly announce what blurbs are mine but I must make it clear that I did not do any of the Hip Hop picks. Aye-yi-yi! Talk about Huggies material. Props to Booman and Ogun, who are actually some really cool and talented brothas. Anyway… Congrats to all of the winners! (Even the crappy ones. Ha!)
Since the party is for celebrating the best of the city it made sense to resurrect my "I heart Bmore" shirt.

As usual, there were a few interesting characters in attendance. What's up, Stilt Man?!

Only at a City Paper party will a dude on stilts get play from two chicks on the dancefloor.
Oh and I can't forget about Hula Hoop Chick.

Anyone that can jump on the dancefloor, do back-crackling pelvic thrusts to the beat then drop down to a full split all while keeping two hula hoops in motion is worth mentioning in my blog.
The all night open buffet and open bar was quite lovely as always. A personal trainer coming up to me and giving me her business card was almost depressing enough for me to put down my 7th chicken shish kabob. I said ALMOST.
After the CP party me and Q headed to a couple hole in the wall bar/clubs down in Odenton and had a balllllll! Shoutout to the staff of Sonik Boom Productions (and friends) for showing us a good time. I'm still trying to figure out how I was able to wake up at 6:15am after all of Thursday's festivities.
Upcoming stuff that only I give a damm about:
NBC's Heroes 2 hour season premiere(with pre show special) – Sept 22nd; 8pm
Sex & the City DVD release– Sept 23rd
Chic Saturdays with DJ Spontaneous @ Eden's Lounge – http://i37.tinypic.com/2n17vj9.jpg
Random MySpace thoughts:
MySpace is cool as a fan but STOP IT with all the new features. WTF is up with these "Applications"?! If I get one more invitation to join somebody's damm "Mobsters family", I'm going to frickin' whack Tom and all of his top friends. haha
Speaking of new wackazz features. Ummm… I don't want all of my "friends" to be informed that I'm now "friends" with XYZ when I approve requests. What genius came up with this alert?
Lastly, what's up with all these people that clown MySpacers but are heavy Facebook users? Somebody please explain the major difference to me. Initially, I joined MySpace because EVERYBODY in the music biz had a profile. (FYI: MySpace started for indie bands to network and get exposure). But I'm sure I would have a MySpace profile if I wasn't a music journalist/lover. It just tickles me when Facebookers turn their noses up at MySpace when Facebook is probably packed with equally hoe-ish bubbleheads. And I'm sorry but anything called FACEbook makes me raise an eyebrow. It sounds like a clever name for a porno site catering to librarians that like to give oral pleasure. Thanks but no thanks!
Ciao sweeties!

Forget Vegas and A.C., we've got boxing in BMore! And with local boxing you can witness exciting fights in the audience as well as in the ring. (I chuckled but I'm serious.)
On Friday, I checked out some pro fights at Du Burns Arena. My hubby is a boxing junkie but I'm a rookie so this was my very time seeing boxing matches in person. I'm not even going to front, I had an absolute ball! To my own surprised, I jumped around, yelled and cheered, sometimes louder than the dudes I was with (hubby and 5 of his friends). Here's pics:
Flier

Our Tickets (V.I.P. baby!)

The Heavyweight Champion of MY HEART :

The Heavy Weight Champion of Cinnabon Eating :
(I felt a little over dressed for a boxing match at first. However, I had on jeans and wedge heeled sandals and by the end of the night I realized I was far from the most dipped in the house. If it was cooler I bet some of them chicks would have been rockin' furs. )
Boxer Keith Gross
Check out homeboy fresh out off the ropes and posing for my camera already. ha! Can you tell he won his fight? Oh and he goes to the same gym as my husband. Small world.
Boxer Rob "Mac Attack" McConnell

He had other things on his mind. Rob is good friends with my hubby. check them out on Channel 70's UrbanMusic.tv's Sports Talk segment. Shameless plug for my hub-hub.
Boxer DeWayne "Big Ticket" Mc rae
he defeated a Baltimore native and it was their pro debuts but I'm already fan of his! hehehe
By the last match, it was late and I slipped on my photo-taking game but here's Jesse "The Beast" Nicklow defending his championship against George "Wartime" Rivera in the last round:
Click for some raggedy VIDEO FOOTAGE that I took. (Yeah I almost dropped the camera. lol)
This match was the most heated because fighters' entourages decided to have their own street fight in the last round. This got Wartime amped and he went from embarrassingly losing every single round to shockingly knocking The Beast on his azz a couple times. The Beast maintained his title and is actually the better fighter but Wartime represented very well toward the end. Here's the Champ hugging his woman after the victory:
Awww, ain't love grand?
Speaking of love, did you all see the beautiful wedding pictures of Malinda Williams and D-Nice?

Why are they so frickin' cute together? They're definitely one of my very favorite "Hip-Hop couples". CONGRATS TO THE NEWLYWEDS!
Gone to finish watching the VMA's Nighty-night.
