Greg and I were talking earlier about the importance of writing things down.  It is not only a necessity as an organizational tool, but also as a way of accomplishing things.  The amount of motivation that is created as you start seeing the checkmarks beside a list of 20 to-do's.  The commitment to yourself when you write down goals.  The confidence you gain when you re-read something, realizing that you've "got it".  The relief you get when you no longer have to juggle all this stuff in your head.  I've been writing a lot more lately, I started using "Outlook" to do calendering and organize tasks.  Plus I'm writing a lot of documents to hone ideas.  I need to get back into the habit of writing on here... very refreshing, plus it helps me feel on track.  I'm starting to trail here, and I have a lot to do, so off I go.  I'll write more before Friday... - now I'm committed.

A friend of mine, Tony, wrote a bulletin yesterday... he is a musician, loves music/guitar, and is very passionate about what he does.  I've written on this note before, but Passion is such a vital part of our life, our success, and ultimately our happiness.  Passion gives us our motivation, our drive.  When we were kids they told us to find out what we love, and thats what we should choose for a career.  What they really meant was.. if you are doing something you are passionate about, nothing else matters.

One of my passions is education reform... primary education blows, its damn near a waste of time, and it does nothing to help kids find their passions, learn how to handle the real world, or become inspired.   It does happen occasionally, but its rare.  I'm not involved in education now, but I know that once I obtain my success, I will be able to devote myself to this passion.  I understand I will not be able to do anything in this sector without success, and therefore this passion becomes my drive towards success.

Another passion... environment.  Simply because it disgusts me to see so many people who really don't give a shit.  There are people who argue that global warming is a hoax... WHO CARES... lets still find a way to fix our energy problem.. lets still find a way to place less pollutants in the air.. lets still find a way to help the environment...  What will it hurt that we invested our time to put less stress on the environment?  Here is an example...  I replaced the timing belt in my car a month ago.. cost me a thousand bucks.  I had the guy at the Honda dealer tell me I didn't need to change it for 20K miles.. The guy at the Acura dealer told me I needed to change it now.  The risk was this... if the guy at the Honda dealer was right.. I spend a thousand dollars now that I would have to spend later.  If the guy at the Acura dealer was right, I just saved myself the expense of a new engine when/if the timing belt broke.  It needed to be done anyway... I needed to put the effort in anyway... I just took care of it now, saved myself a possible headache later and/or didn't place the burden on whomever may buy my car.  Too many people look at the earth and say... its not broken lets not try to fix it.  Lets wait till its really bad, and let our kids deal with it.  AGAIN.... EVEN IF ITS NOT A PROBLEM NOW DOES IT REALLY HURT TO TRY TO MAKE IT EASIER ON OUR PLANET?

Passion III...  government systems... need I say more..

I'm not going to be a politician.. but I am going to allow my passions to accelerate me to a point that I can be influential, and help make the changes that need to be made.  We need something now.. not a political party, but a movement.. a movement of our generation who understands the problems, and wants to see the changes.. We need to feel empowered.. we need to understand that we can make a difference..

Wow... so quite some time since my last post...  I def. need to get back into this.

I'm a currently 22 year old entrepreneur pushing myself to the point where I can be an influence, and become a catalyst for positive change in the global community.

I have accelerated greatly over the past month.  My life at this point is divided into the basic following catagories

Immediate Future - present to 2 years - CCS is a work in progress.  We have most everything in place to capitalize on opportunity... Been working with Greg in further developing/furthering the concept of another business.  I am very confident in the core competency, and feel empowered because of the potential.

Near Future - 2-5 years - I see myself building relationships, establishing credibility, and launching forward.  We are building another business over CCS, and it will become the marketable company.  Furthering relationship with Greg, and honing our ability to be most productive as a team.

Maleable Future - 5-10 years - Somewhat open pending developements during the near future.  I see myself acting on relationships to lay the foundation for the bigger goal - I strive to build a network of people with a passion towards ehancing lifestyle through an increased awareness and contribution towards the positive change in world.

Ultimate Future - 10+ years  -    At this point in my life, I will be acting upon my passions, and utilizing my networks to create change.   I will probably be starting a family, and this will obviously be a focus.

Ok... so Steorn has annouced its all new perpetual energy machine.

Let me preface this by saying that from the depths of my soul I hope this to be true.  It would do wonders for reducing pollution, reducing poverty/increasing standards of living, eliminating our dependencies on oil and other natural resources, while making us all much more mobile.

Unfortunately, I do not believe this is possible.

This just seems to be more of a test to see how long it takes an online community to completely disprove a theory, and if it can be done faster than having scientific professionals do it.. (who wants to waste their time anyway)

I base my doubts on several things that just seemed to jump out at me:

A) The initial image of the company and website.  The way they have the counter on their site... what is their purpose besides so they know how many people are interested...are we feeding egos?

I guess it could also work in the same direction, asking.. how many people in the world really care about this.

B)it says .com instead of .net on the header of the page... the site just seems to showy, and thrown together...  but then I guess that could be justified considering the fact that this is a godaddy website, and was just purchased on 08/19/2006......interesting... http://www.register.com/retail/whois.rcmx

C)I've been trying to register to leave a comment in the forum for about an hour now... no luck..  whats the trick here..  kinda invalidates all of the posts in their forum.  (I'm open on this one.. if anybody knows how to post on their forum let me know).

D)Check out the news portion of their site http://www.steorn.net/en/news.aspx?p=2... weak... oh.. and which makes little to no sense.. its all posted on August 17th...  and of course, thats the only news this company has.. for now.    Check out the about portion http://www.steorn.net/en/about.aspx?p=4 ooohhh... that explains how they have all that engineering talent.

E)Ok.. now we have the video.. Stern's You-Tube release  (after you check out this video.. look at some of this users other vids.. interesting)  I see the CEO and Marketing Manager... who else is a part of this company?.. where is the group that helped to develop this?.. do they have a prototype, or is it all on paper?  oh wait... they are a "Technology Risk Management Company"

He says exploitation how many times in the video?  (sounds about right)  Let me hear from the guy/team who actually made this work.

F)Scientists have validated this project..OFF THE RECORD...riiiiiiiigggggggghhhhhhhhttt.. the last time somebody brought me a brilliant idea, I wanted to be a part of it.. I didn't say.. great idea..never associate me with this.  Or maybe its because the scientists who looked at it don't want to be ridiculed/discredited if/when it is proved to be false.

G) They have spent 2 years working on this project http://www.steorn.net/en/technology.aspx?p=5 and have made a breakthrough that refutes the main rule of physics.

"In 2003 Steorn undertook a project to develop more efficient micro generators. Early into this project the company developed certain generator configurations that appeared to be over 100fficient. Further investigation and development has led to the companys current technology, a technology that produces free energy. The technology is patent pending."

Kudos!  Man has been working to create such a machine since the beginning of time, and they managed to do it in 2 years.  Phenomonal.. so when can we start using these... and why haven't the investors in the project tried to validate their claims?

Ok.. so I could just go on and on and on nitpicking on why this sounds scandelous, but instead, I'm going to hope that they prove me wrong... and that it doesn't turn out that Stoern is just an anagram for STONER, and this is all some cacked out idea.

The only thing that really gives me hope is the concept of our solar system, and the fact that the planets revolve around the sun due to gravity/some magnetic field.  They obviously don't stop or slow down...so in theory it could be possible to create something like this..

Here is a link to another blog that has some .mp3 of interviews, and a little more info on the company.  Monty - http://nothingbutnoise.org/2006/08/19/steorn-free-energy

---A point a friend brought up... how would they be able to put this into a cell phone, radio, car, laptop, etc.... I can't put my phone or computer near a magnet, it interferes with wireless/internet signals, and makes my computer screen go nuts...  Magnets have been known to erase data off of computers..

So I  was thinking...  I want so much for the world it makes it difficult to think about what I want for me.  In doing so, it also makes me feel selfish to even want to think about myself.  In the sense that my needs are so miniscule in the big picture.

I want to see change, I want to see positivism, I want to see true happiness, I want to see society working together for the benefit of society.. a common goal for all.

I don't want to see people carelessly harming our planet and destroying the future.  Is it the "governments" fault for not making the changes for the people?  but since the people control the government... is it our fault?  Who's fault is it that we are not empowered to make the necessary changes, and push for what we know is right.  Some are willing to make that stand, others will join.  If we don't act.. change will not happen.

I don't want to see 14 year old girls singing along to a song about doing that "skeet skeet" or "bust a cap in da thug, niggaaa"... nor do I want to hear them whining along to a song about "closing the go*damn door" basically 99f the music of today (in the US) sucks, and is doing nothing to empower anybody, or spread any type of harmony.  Its either depressing, or demoralizing, either way, its not dealing any favors.  This/we are the generations for this change.. what will encourage and excite us to move towards the better?  Will we be forced by necessity for survival, or can we make the decision on our own?

Basically, we have to think about our world now, and how what we do now affects everything.  Think of the world as a life, and the harmful things we are doing to it as giving the world a cigarette.  Every time we do something harmful, we knock some life off of our planet.  So for every screwup, and bad decision we have is essentially destroying a future life.

The population of the world has grown well more than doubled in the last 50 years.  US Census Bureau  Notice how they predict the population growth to slow down by .5 year over the next 50 years.  I wonder why they predict that?  Will we outgrow our planet?  I don't think it can happen. What I think can happen is we become so overpopulated that we have nasty diseases, and we start killing each other.  Just like Polar bear killing of cubs it finds in its territory and how global warming is affecting their habits, just like AIDS killing 100 thousand people a year, just like rabbits in australia, genocides, and World War II and others (notice how many wars are in the 1900's, and the massive amount of people that have died.  Also notice we almost tripled in size during the 1900's).  Its not coincidence, its nature screaming at us to stop what we are doing and pay attention.

My only hope is that it hasn't gone too far.  At what point does the effects we have with global warming cause the climatic rubberband to retract, causing an ice age, and at what point does that move from a "little ice age" to an Ice Age?  The Little Ice Age as we have come to know it resulted in deaths of over half the population through the Black Plague.  This eventually came round, gave the roots for capitalism, sparked the Renaissance, and spurred the Industrial Revolution - Socio-Economic Effect of the Black Death

Part of me screams out that this is all a natural cycle, and the other part screams that we must make sure we don't cause anymore harm than what naturally occurs.  Historians say that simply the population of the Earth at the time of the Little Ice Age is what kept it around for 400 years.  Our population is so much greater than that now.. think what would happen.

Basically increase in CO2 leads to global warming, ice caps melt, moisture everaporates, this puts high amount of moisture in the air, makes for a more dense/cooler atmosphere, this causes more harsh winters, and more snow.  People start dying, and when the CO2 levels come back to normal, the planet warms up again. This doesn't happen over a century people..its abrupt! Pay attention when it talks about how global warming affects ocean currents.

Damn, I have to go to bed, its so late.  Jake.. you feel it man.  You know what you have to do.  People must be made embrace their responsibility, and they must be influenced.  Why can't we have a large online community site like Myspace.com that is simply people focused towards making our world better.  Is it wikimedia?

So I had an idea today, and I was always told if you have a great idea, blog it the day you have it, so there is a record that you had the idea on that day.  So.. it's now 1:05 AM Saturday, July 8, 2006.

Today our world is plagued by the problem of Global Warming and Pollution.  One of the current problems facing our country is the US dependance on oil.  The average automobile currently gets 18 mpg.  This is horrible.  Technologies have been implemented, using solar power to aid in a "hybrid" system that increases gas mileage up to 60 mpg.  Also, there was an idea for using wind energy to charge a "grid" that a hybrid car could plug into at a gas station to recharge its batteries.  This is currently failing due to the lack of a dependable infrastructure to sustain a local grid, much less a national grid.

My question... why don't we implement a wind-turbine on the vehicle?  Everytime a car moves, it generate "wind".  This becomes apparent by driving down the road, and putting your hand out of the window.   Why can't we place several turbines over the body of the car?  I would say a wind-turbine built into the mirrors, grill, and the muffler (after all, if the gas engine is running, it will be producing exhaust)  This wind-energy can be used to power accessories such as:  Radio, Headlights, Instruments, A/C, Blower, Heater, Mirrors, Windshield Washers and Wipers, Windows, Locks, etc...  This is one of the current uses of Solar Energy.  The  Solar Energy also powers the engine, by charging batteries that supplement movement of the car.  The problem is: The sun is not always shining, and solar energy still does not produce enough to wholly power a car.  Why can't we combine solar and wind energy.  If the car is being driven, there will be wind, and the batteries will be charged.  If the sun is also shining, this further strengthens the electric engine, eliminating the need for the gasoline engine at speeds over, say, 30 mph.  This would also further increase the fuel economy, and reduce the running expenses of an automobile.

The current questions are:  Who do I contact to further hone this idea?  Who has the power and knowledge to actually do the work to make this idea a reality?  Maybe Greg should do this in a start-up challenge...

July 1... wow... halfway through the year already.   I had an epiphanal (word?) moment today... really intense...

I was listening to this song Pink Floyd - High Hopes and  talking to Greg about everything going on right now... Just he and I and our balance/future/passions/etc...  we started talking about the recent decisions being made regarding the immediate future, and it was so clear.

Over most of my life, I have always had the opportunity to realize an inflection point.  A moment in which a decision was made that I know directly affected who I am today.  They have seem to come in 3 year spurts, and have been life-changing.  Its as though the smallest decisions are actually having the most impact on our lives, and truly represent the character in which we embody.  The "tough" decisions do not reflect who we are, but who we wish to become.  Its this decision that has been analyzed and is made based on how we want our future to be.  We make a decision to do something... this doesn't mean thats who we are, it means we will now force ourselves into a situation that we will mold ourselves to fit in.  We put ourselves in this situation, then the subconscious runs things... making all the decisions that allow you to survive, but the decisions that actually get you where you need to be, and actually show your true self.  I look back, and I see now many small little decisions, and I can see how they directly reflect who I am, and who I was at the time of the decision.  Its several of these few, seemingly small, obviously simple decisions that fucking made me.  It also puts your mind at ease thinking about the big decisions you've made... in the sense that.. I have thought about it so much, it has to be the right move..period... otherwise I wouldn't have made the decision..

It's just further proof that you can dream and create a focus for yourself, but unless you can create and/or maintain a natural instinct to have passionate and positive thoughts, and direct your energy in making the right "little" decisions, it will remain a dream.

I just feel at such a great peace.... with the exception of: I need a badass chick to my right.
