Unfortunately, my brother Anthony is moving into an apartment with his friend and along with him goes his laptop, and the only computer i have access to.
That sucks.
It's sad really how much of my life revolves around a computer and i'm not looking forward to adjusting to life without one.
This means until i can get a new computer, no google, no myspace or facebook, no imdb. Forget about making dvd's of Lost and 24 after they air. Not to mention my access to news, information or the world at large. No more downloading the podcasts that get me thru my morning bus ride and workday. No more updating the iPod at all.
Possibly the worst, aside from being cut off from my friends online, is the loss of the use of my digital camera; there isn't much that is less useful than a dslr with no computer...
so....
this is goodbye for now. Hopefully i will be able to come up on a pc soon, but i dont see it happening for a few weeks; and that's a conservative estimate. I'm hoping i will have not gone crazy before that happens.
Those of you i have known for years, you have my #, hit me up! I have posted the number on my facebook profile if you don't already have it...
well, i guess that's about it. I'm going to go cry myself to sleep now.

Well Greg called me a few minutes ago to let me know that we were pretty slow and not to come in till 1.
D'oh! I was hoping for a full shift today but i guess thats not going to happen. I just wish they could let me know earlier so i don't have to get up with the alarm :) Oh well, i'm not complaining. I'm lucky to have a job that i love and not having that is still all too fresh in my mind. I have had more than my share of unemployment for three lifetimes.
Well, we get a new president today! Happy days are here again!! The country (well, a little more than half of it) will be celebrating our victory today and welcoming Obama to his historic Presidency. Now he's got the job and needs to prove himself. The tests that man will face will define his character and show the millions of voters (and millions more supporters worldwide) what kind of man he really is.
I'm confident that Obama will exceed our expectations and handle everything that is thrown at him with the grace, style and integrity that we have come to love about the man.
Lost returns to television tomorrow night with a bang, ending the wait suffered by all the fans that have been waiting patiently on the edge of their seats ever since the last scene of season 4 where we learned who Jeremy Bentham was (but not how and why he was in the coffin) and the new plotline (and HUGE reveal on Wed.) that will push the castaways' story to its conclusion.
Yes folks, it's almost over. For good this time. There are only 34 more episodes left and we are done. Seasons 5 and 6 will be each 17 episodes each, thus giving the producers a clear end date and therefore a clear path to their endgame. Lost will not suffer the fate of JJ Abrams other (under-appreciated) show Alias with a mad rush to tie up a whole gaggle of knotty plot threads and character turns. I loved Alias, but i found its plot damn near impossible to explain to people past the first season. Even the pilot was complicated as hell...
I managed to go shooting yesterday as planned. hitting the overpass and brick house as well as Oso De Oro park for some pictures of the ducks and geese that flock there. I made it to the overpass and while the light was good but the sky was hazy and obscured what little of downtown you could see. I should be posting those tonight after work, i still need to make the panoramas. I think at least one of them are going to turn out. We shall see.
Ok thats all for now. I should finish getting ready and mabey try to eat something before i have to leave. No lunch break for me tonight...
have a great day everyone!
jeffro

The more i use facebook, the more i like it. If there are any holdouts, give it a try. You may not like it right away, compared to myspace, but it will grow on you. It's much cleaner (interface wise) and there is soooo much less spam (almost none). That alone is reason enough to join.
Facebook: It's like myspace...for adults.

One of the best comedies in the last 10 years, Scrubs, returned to television after being dumped by NBC, only to be brought home by ABC (Scrubs is produced by ABC Studios but broadcast rights were sold to NBC). Because NBC didn't own the show, they had very little vested interest in it's success and decided to just end it midseason with no regard to the story that was being told during the shows final episodes.
So ABC, knowing the potential of the show, if it were marketed properly, and the costs involved, decided to air what will be the 'final season' of Scrubs. I put that in quotes because there has been talk of possibly continuing on without Zach Braff (who will be leaving the show regardless, along with series creator Bill Lawrence) in some form or another. That said, i missed the premier last week but i was helpfully warned by a friends Facebook status of tonight's 2 new episodes. I was happy that i caught it (i had no idea it was on tonight) and i was anxious to see what changes ABC had made. It was known that the studio thought that the show had become too silly and un-relatable and in some ways i was in agreement. (If you don't know what i'm talking about. Go watch an episode from season 1, then one from season 6 and get back to me.) Within the first few minutes i had a huge grin on my face because they had managed to return the show to it's original roots with good storytelling, characters showing some real emotion and very few of the Family Guy style gags that the show had begun to rely on; and it was funny! By the end of the second episode, i had laughed myself stupid and was a little misty at the end at the sight of JD and Elliot's hands nervously coming together as they walked out of the hospital. It was such a touching moment between those two characters who had come so far in their stories. These two people who are clearly made for each other, with all the baggage, good and bad, of a couple with a long and winding history, coming together as the older, wiser people they were, to share a small yet profoundly intimate gesture of love.
I'm sorry to see this show leave the air. It's not over yet, but the time will soon be here where Scrubs will join so many shows before it in the archives television history and pop culture and be done. I'm happy to see that in it's final season they have gotten back to the heart of the show and will be allowed to end on their own terms, telling the story they want to tell with the characters we have come to care about over the last 7 seasons.
