About Us....

outside the hotel around the corner across the street you can find the photo guy who will hand paint your picture if you have the time and the money.

Jesse before Georgette

(Afghanistan 1971)

resting after many miles. always moving in the right direction. to asia and back.

Georgette before Jesse

(Pakistan 1972)

ONCE UPON A TIME LONG LONG AGO, FAR FAR AWAY, THEY LIVED AND DANCED WITH THE SUN MOON Jesse and Georgette started exploring Asia in the 70's andspent 10 years living in India, camping in Afghanistan, setting up house on the northern hills of Pakistan. This all happened before the fall of Iran and the invasion of Afghanistan by the Russians. They both express a true love for Afghan and Pakistani people. They still work closely with the Afghans that have taken refuge in the bazaars of the tribal border towns of Pakistan. If you spend any time with them, you will hear exciting stories of crossing borders, traveling in local buses during the holy Ramadan (No one can drink or eat from sunrise to sunset for 30 days), long train rides, sleeping in the jungles, raising a son in a palm-tree hut on the beaches of India where you had to pull your water from the well, cook over fire, and light candles in the evening. There was no television, telephone, electricity or running water but they loved it! To survive, they used their passion and knowledge of Asia and started buying and selling jewelry and textiles that they found in the bazaars. First they sold in Greece, Ibiza, Spain, South of France, and art galleries in Paris. Twenty two years later they moved their gypsy camp to Venice Beach where they were an instant hit! Now they have established a reputation for uniqueness, quality, and affordable prices. When you step into their shop, you have stepped into a real bazaar. You will discover rare and exotic stories, people and smells. If you happen to be on the beach feel free to drop by.

i just got my drivers permit. can i borrow your motor skooter? i won't get lost.all of us hard at work as the cameras roll and the music plays the dance music of the day and we smile.local clothes are easy clothes and make for the train ride of a lifetime. all aboard!
