Life is so busy - between a bout of cold, writing, recording, gigging, busking, trying to figure out protools and going to gigs just to hear the wonderful music surrounding me in Melbourne ( ask me - I can recommend lots of great bands).
I have been involved with a new film being made here in Melbourne by the talented team at Big Dwarf Productions - it is called "Suite for Fleur" ( in my Top Friends). All the filming has been done and it is now in post- production.. looks great too. Anyway my song Under My Skin will feature in it both during the film and the end credits. That song got a few awards around the time of its release and it got selected for QANTAS in Flight Radio in 2007 which was a buzz..
I will let you know when the film is released (maybe at the end of this year..)
And by the way, do check out the music of my house mate - Nick Roy - he is on my Top Friends. He is about to tour the East Coast. He has a video which will be out soon on Video Hits etc.
Jess x

I am pleased to announce that Sleepy Head has been selected through thesixtyone.com music discovery site and the Fender Music Foundation to go on the Bandtogether2 Compilation! All funds from the compilation sales on Amazon, Itunes and other download stores will go towards outfitting schools, or other music programs with instruments, based on need.
So I am happy about that :)

In May I start recording with Charles Fisher, producer of Savage Garden's mega first album , so I am getting things in order for that. It has been just over 2 years since I released my second EP so I am really looking forward to this!I have written about 20 new songs in the last few months and have plenty to choose from. Tomorrow I am at a local festival with my brother Josh. He does delectable harmonies and is now writing his own songs . Now if I can jst recover fom the allergic reaction to the wasp stings on my ankle ( a wasp got stuck under the sheet a few days ago.) .. ouch! I can still walk though but my ankle is a nasty shade of puce.

ON 24th January my guitar plus a lot of other gear was stolen from my car parked in Doncaster. On my website I have pictures of my gear in the Gallery - please have a look and keep an eye out in second hand shops etc... The guitar is a Seagull acoustic - it had a blue dymo sticker on the scratch plate that said "rock my sox" ( they probably took that off I guess) and it is easily identifiable as there just aren't many Seagull guitars in Melbourne for a start and this one has a clear scratch plate and is very scratched up (it is about 20 years old at least). It has special memories for me and I want it back.. they also took my Fender Passport PA, 2 mics, mic stands, leads, Korg Chromatic D1-10 tuner and $400. Please look out for it and spread the word. www.jessicapaige.net for pics Jess x

There is a really funny and great guy, Adam Hills, he is a comedian , writer and presenter. I bumped into him recently after first meeting a couple of years ago. He hosts a popular TV show called Spicks and Specks which has a lot of musos as guests. Those musos seem to know the name of albums, song lyrics and stuff. I, however, know very little stuff like that - or if I do I can never think of the word, the name etc... it has always been a little problem of mine - remembering the names of things and particularly people. Adam Hills runs a comedy session for trying comedy material for the Melbourne Festival every Sunday evening.....6pm, Nectar Lounge, Flinders Lane, Melbourne. Started Sunday, Feb 1. If you are interested in trying out your funniness, you should come along and bring someone to laugh at you as well :) It is a gold coin donation. I will be playing a song every week. Not necessarily a funny one.

New demos are up - Teddy's Song, written by me and Luke Howard (who plays the piano like no-one I have ever heard before).
Luke is accompanying me in Maybe this is Love which I wrote last year and we recorded at Armstrong's Studio here in Melbourne , live, a few months ago..
Let me know if you like them :)

I am auditioning for a show called '6BeersofSeparation' which sponsors someone (hopefully me) to travel to all corners of the globe in search of the next link in the chain to the object (subject) of my desire. This made me think of the people I would really like to meet over a beer- I mean, realistically you have to have something to say other than 'I think you're great'. So that meant someone I feel I know well enough already to have a good chat with.. Three creative geniuses who inspire me are: Rufus Wainwright, Paul McCartney and Daniel Johns. I hope they are slow drinkers... J x
