JET ANNOUNCE WORLDWIDE RELEASE OF HIGHLY ANTICIPATED NEW ALBUM SHAKA ROCK WITH SELECT LIVE APPEARANCES; TICKETS ON SALE THIS THURSDAY, FRIDAY AND SATURDAY - DENVER, MILWAUKEE AND CHICAGO ON SALE NOW
SHAKA ROCK Set For U.S. Release August 25
On Band’s Real Horrorshow Records/Five Seven Music
With Worldwide Distribution Through EMI Music

Free Download of First Single, “She’s A Genius,” Available to U.S. Fans June 22nd
At AOL Music For 24 Hours

New York (June 11, 2009) – JET, the Australian rockers, will release their highly anticipated third studio album Shaka Rock on August 25th on their newly created Real Horrorshow Records through the Five Seven Music imprint with distribution and services through EMI Label Services.   The album’s first single “She’s A Genius” will go to radio on June 22nd and JET and AOL will offer a U.S. exclusive download of the track on music.aol.com on the same day for 24 hours.

After four million albums sold worldwide and four Top Ten Modern Rock and Rock hits (including the #1 “Cold Hard Bitch”), the authentic Australian rockers have returned to form with an album that parallels their smash, Get Born, which produced hits like “Are You Gonna Be My Girl” and “Cold Hard Bitch.”  The new album closes the gap between the raw roots of Get Born and the grace and melody of Shine On which together went on to make JET an international band of style and substance.  Shaka Rock captures the charisma and energy of classic rock and roll with just enough punk swagger and contemporary flair to create something uniquely JET.

“I can say that the band is thrilled with Shaka Rock in every conceivable way.  We've had a don't think twice attitude throughout the making of this record which continues as we get ready to release it,” says JET’s Chris Cester, “I think Shaka Rock is like when TV went color. It’s our musical equivalent. There are moments on this record that are just pure...and moments that just rock harder than we ever have before.”

The album is highlighted by tracks like the first single, “She’s A Genius,” a lighthearted take on the band’s appreciation of women.  “Black Hearts (On Fire)” touches on the fascination with greed and power.  “Start the Show” is one of the band’s heaviest rock songs to date. “K.I.A” has the drama of film, in a three-minute song. The album is full of rich and deep stories like “Goodbye Hollywood” of which Chris Cester says,I like to think of it as our kiss-off to our past personally, and it really sums up the forward thinking...go-go, don't think twice attitude that we had making this album.”

“JET is a band that transcends borders, which is why they are one of the handful of modern artists with a global footprint due to their compelling music and presence,” notes Allen Kovac, Founder and CEO of The Eleven Seven Music Group and the band’s manager.

Known for their hard rocking live performances, JET will hit the road for a quick tour of select North American cities in support of their single and album release.  The handful of tour dates will be intimate performances to showcase tracks from the new album as well as the hits.  For ticket information and additional tour dates as announced, please visit www.jettheband.com.  A list of confirmed tour dates is below.

JET SET DATE FOR WORLDWIDE PRIORITY RELEASE OF HIGHLY ANTICIPATED NEW ALBUM

SHAKA ROCK Set For International Release August 25 On Band’s Real Horrorshow Records/Five Seven Music With Worldwide Distribution And More Through EMI Music

New York (June 9, 2009) – JET, the Australian rockers will release their highly anticipated Shaka Rock on August 25 on their newly created Real Horrorshow Records through the Five Seven Music imprint with distribution and services through EMI Label Services in the US, UK and Canada and by EMI in the rest of the world under license.   This global priority will feature a worldwide coordinated plan of converging marketing, touring, publicity promotion, sales, distribution and other support from EMI and Five Seven Music.  This move reunites the band with EMI and key members of the team that originally broke them out of Australia in 2003.

The single “She’s A Genius” goes to radio on June 22 and a viral video for the track “K.I.A.” is making its way around the internet.

The JET album builds upon a deal announced last month between EMI and The Eleven Seven Music Group in which EMI will release and market The Eleven Seven Music Group’s roster in the UK and Europe.  In addition to those territories, EMI Label Services will work with imprint Five Seven Music to release the JET album in the US and Canada and the rest of the world including support from EMI’s promotion, merchandising, digital and physical distribution, licensing, synchronization and brand partnerships teams.

Real Horrorshow Records/Five Seven Music are part of a new modern rock division of the top rock label confab, The Eleven Seven Music Group whose roster includes Buckcherry, Mötley Crüe, Drowning Pool, Trapt and others is also home to Eleven Seven Music, named #1 Independent Rock Label (2008) by Mediabase and the rock label of the year by industry trade FMQB (2008).

“JET is a band that transcends borders, which is why they are one of the handful of modern artists with a global footprint due to their compelling music and presence.  We are thrilled to launch our imprint Five Seven Music with Shaka Rock in conjunction with JET’s Realhorrorshow Records as well as to launch our first major project with our partners at EMI Music around the world,” notes Allen Kovac, Founder and CEO of The Eleven Seven Music Group and the band’s manager.

“We’re thrilled to work with JET and Allen’s team to bring this stellar album to the world,” said Ronn Werre, EMI Music's Chief Operating Officer, North America & Mexico, and President, Music Services worldwide.  “They’ve made a fantastic record and our team around the world is ready to connect the band with both existing and new fans on a variety of platforms in some very innovative ways.”

“I can say that the band are thrilled with Shaka Rock in every conceivable way, and excited to know that we are 100% in control of every element of our career at this point with the new set-up. Releasing the record on our own Real Horrorshow Records in conjunction with Allen Kovac and his team at Five
Seven, and working with EMI worldwide, the band have never felt stronger.  We've had a don't think twice attitude throughout the making of this record which continues as we get ready to release it,” says JET’s Chris Cester.

About JET
Multi-Platinum Australian rockers, JET, are: Nic Cester (vocals and guitar), Chris Cester (drums and vocals), Cam Muncey (guitar, vocals) and Mark Wilson (bass, vocals).  Their third studio album, Shaka Rock is a return to form with what Q Magazine has called “new old rock at its finest.”  Jet first gained notoriety in 2002 with their self-released EP Dirty Sweet.   An initial run of 1000 copies in Australia soon led to a worldwide release and the opening slot on the Rolling Stones Australian tour.  Months later, the critically acclaimed Get Born produced the runaway hit single “Are You Gonna Be My Girl” which was featured in an early iTunes ad and contributed to record sales of 4 million.  The band followed with Shine On, written and recorded just after the brothers Cester lost their father to a long illness.  Shaka Rock is scheduled for a global release the week of August 24 with “She’s A Genius” leading as the first single at the end of June.  Look for the viral trailer to “K.I.A. at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAT2t1gtQZ8
