This Friday night, September 18, I'll be interviewing actor Joe Turkel (Lloyd the Bartender) on stage following a screening of one of my favorite movies of all time, Stanley Kubrick's THE SHINING.  It'll be part of the American Cinematheque's tribute to Stanley Kubrick at the Egyptian Theatre--get info on location, tickets, etc. at the Cinematheque's website, www.americancinematheque.com, or by clicking on their Myspace page (they're one of my top friends).

On Friday, September 11, I'll be moderating a Q&A with one of my favorite American directors, Peter Bogdanovich, at the American Cinematheque's Egyptian theatre in Hollywood.  We'll be watching 35mm prints of two Bogdanovich classics, NICKELODEON and MASK, with my conversation with the filmmaker between the movies.  Come on out for a night of great films with a living legend (Peter, not me).

FANTASTIQUE, the European film magazine for which I'm now writing, has hit the stands in America--you can find it in the entertainment section at Borders, Barnes & Noble, or any newsstand with a decent selection of foreign mags. 

My main duty at Fantastique is co-authoring their "Ask Fantastique" column, which is a feature where readers can write in questions about horror, sci-fi, and fantasy movies.  I need more questions for upcoming issues, so if you have any ideas please e-mail 'em to me at depalmafan@earthlink.net - the questions can be anything from trivia (who played Jason in the FRIDAY THE 13th series the most times or something like that) to recommendations (what are the best French horror movies) or whatever else you can think of.  These are lame examples, which is why I need you!  If you have anything, send it to me and maybe it'll end up in a future issue!
