Ever get that feeling that your swimming in quick sand, that no matter how much things start to look like for the better, that there's still no light at the end of the tunnel, and in fact more and more things seem to be getting piled on deeper and deeper....
Yeah, that's pretty much how it feels like right now for me...
Although I am staying afloat for now, everything seems to be pulling me in deeper and deeper....
Still looking for a job down here in Richmond. Oh, and the cell phone bill just came in, and since I don't have a job, I don't have a way to pay it off right now....so e-mail me if you want to get in touch with me!

I saw this on a CA Paramedic's blog while I was goofing off at work today. Liked it enough that I wanted to repost it on mine.
---------------------------------------------------------------
When God made paramedics, He was into His sixth day of overtime. An angel appeared and said, "You're doing a lot of fiddling around on this one." God said, "Have you read the specs on this order?
A Paramedic has to be able to carry an injured person up a wet, grassy hill in the dark, dodge stray bullets to reach a dying child unarmed, enter homes the health inspector wouldn't touch, and not wrinkle his uniform."
"He has to be able to lift three times his own weight. Crawl into wrecked cars with barely enough room to move, and console a grieving mother as he is doing CPR on a baby he knows will never breathe again."
"He has to be in top mental condition at all times, running on no sleep, black coffee and half-eaten meals, and he has to have six pairs of hands."
The angel shook her head slowly and said, "Six pairs of hands...no way." "It's not the hands that are causing me problems," God replied. "It's the three pairs of eyes a medic has to have." "That's on the standard model?" asked the angel.
God nodded. "One pair that sees open sores as he's drawing blood, always wondering if the patient is HIV positive." (When he already knows and wishes he'd taken that accounting job)
"Another pair here in the side of his head for his partner's safety. And another pair of eyes here in front that can look reassuringly at a bleeding victim and say, "You'll be alright ma'am when he knows it isn't so."
"Lord," said the angel, touching His sleeve, "rest and work on this tomorrow." "I can't," God replied. "I already have a model that can talk a 250 pound drunk out from behind a steering wheel without incident and feed a family of five on a private service paycheck." The angel circled the model of the Paramedic very slowly. "Can it think?" she asked.
"You bet", God said. "It can tell you the symptoms of 100 illnesses; recite drug calculations in it's sleep; intubate, defibrillate, medicate, and continue CPR nonstop over terrain that any doctor would fear... and it still keeps it's sense of humor."
"This medic also has phenomenal personal control. He can deal with a multi-victim trauma, coax a frightened elderly person to unlock their door, comfort a murder victim's family, and then read in the daily paper how Paramedics were unable to locate a house quickly enough, allowing the person to die. A house that had no street sign, no house numbers, no phone to call back."
Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek of the Paramedic.
"There's a leak," she pronounced. "I told You that You were trying to put too much into this model." "That's not a leak," God replied, "It's a tear." "What's the tear for?" asked the angel.
"It's for bottled up emotions, for patients they've tried in vain to save, for commitment to that hope that they will make a difference in a person's chance to survive, for life." "You're a genius!" said the angel.
God looked somber.
"I DIDN'T PUT IT THERE" He said.

Hey my friend It seems your eyes are troubled Care to share your times with me Would you say you're feeling low and so A good idea would be to get it off your mind See, you and me Have a better time than most can dream Have it better than the best And so can pull on through Whatever tears at us Whatever holds us down And if nothing can be done We'll make the best of what's around Turns out not where but who you're with That really matters And hurts not much when you're around If you hold on tight To what you think is your thing You may find you're missing all the rest She run up into the light surprised Her arms are open Her mind's eye is Seeing things from a Clearer side than most can dream On a better road I feel So you could say she's safe Whatever tears at her Whatever holds her down And if nothing can be done She'll make the best of what's around Turns out not where but what you think That really matters And hurts not much when you're around

Hey Everyone! Guess what!?! I got into VCU!!! I've already got an apartment down there, and with the purchase of my new car, I will definitely have to be looking for a good paying job in the hopes of staying ahead of payments on the car (and for the apartment as well!)...So I'll probably be moving down there early-to-mid August, and will be getting a good paying job, hopefully in the hospital, and if you're ever in Richmond, VA after I move in, please, feel free to call me and come on over!

Ok, so I finally find a car (to replace my Volvo) which I really like, is a good price, low mileage, nice color, good sound, in other words, not a piece of crap...one draw back though, I can't get approval for an auto loan. And this really sucks. Big time. Cause my credit isn't all that bad, it's not great, but it's not bad. And now I'm trying to find any bank to lend me the money (only $8,500). I'm currently waiting to hear back from a couple of banks (a local one and then an out-of-area one). Geez I hope that one of them will approve the loan for me.

I know I shouldn't be complaining, but for some reason, I haven't been receiving nearly as many e-mails as normal. I mean, I'm use to getting 8-10 messages a day (per account), and over this past week, it's been slowing down to me getting maybe 10 e-mails total for all of my accounts. Although I should be thankful that I don't have that many messages to read through and respond to, I'm more or less left with an emptyness. So please, feel free to e-mail me sometime soon, especially with those really long e-mails which take a good 5-10 minutes just to read through, and then you feel like taking a good 30 minutes to write an appropriate response...so please, write away, and with the way things are going, I should be able to respond fairly quickly...later yall!

......a little sad right now, cause I just heard back from JMU, and it wasn't a good response. Looks like I'll be doing Piedmont for another year (unless I can get into another school). Doesn't mean that I'm gonna stop trying for JMU, cause that is where I have my heart set on, just means that I'm gonna be delayed...again. I think tomorrow I'm gonna have a nice chat with my Piedmont advisor, and see if there's anyway I can talk with a counselor up at JMU (although last time I tried, they couldn't give me a straight answer).

Well, JMU has finally received all of my application material for Fall transfer, and about time if you ask me. Almost a full month after applying for transfer, and they've just now received all of my application materials. Well, I guess I should be thankful that they actually received all of my materials this time (unlike for summer transfer). I still have a couple of weeks before they let me know, so for now, I've got my fingers crossed, and am not-so-calmly waiting...and waiting....and waiting...have I mentioned that I'm waiting yet?

Well, good news about my car. My father has given the keys back and has already agreed to signing the title of the car over to me as of last night. Now I'm at work, trying to make some money so that I can afford to make some much need repairs to my vehicle, like the timing belt and the rear lights, and my wiper blades.
