Multi-talented, British artist, John Ford of the Strawbs,The Monks and Hudson Ford – is best known for having penned award winning,chart toppers “Part of the Union” with the Strawbs and “Nice Legs Shame AboutThe Face” with The Monks – each earning Ford Gold and Double Platinum Record Awards from the UK and Canada.
Ford’s rich musical history includes additional Gold and Platinum for The Monks’ Suspended Animation album, an IvorNovello Award for “Part of the Union,” and as founding member with Hudson Ford band. John Ford, is also well known as a bass player – who’s influence with his unique percussive bass style gave the Strawbs, originally a Folk group, a whole new definition into the electric Rock genre; along with addition of Keyboard Mellotron extraordinaire, Rick Wakeman, who later joined YES, and replaced by Blue Weaver, prior to Weaver joining The BeeGees for Saturday Night Fever. Ford’s “Heavy Disguise,” and music for “Tears and Pavan,” with lyrics written by Strawbs founding member Dave Cousins, brought the band even more success and worldwide recognition.

Ford has made many appearances on UK's Top Of the Pops TV show, and has shared the bill on world tours with other legendary acts including Jimi Hendrix, FrankZappa, The Eagles, Jefferson Starship, Ritchie Blackmore, Dave Mason, Ian Lloyd of Stories, Blue Oyster Cult, Marc Bolan/T. Rex, Steppenwolf -- to name just a few. Ford went on to form his Solo Project after relocating to the US in the Eighties, also working and recording with Ritchie Blackmore and Candice Night in Blackmore’s Night in 1998-9.

Ford’s most recent album release for 2012, Resurrected, has been met with accolades. Ford also received a Double Platinum Record Award from EMI for The Monks’ Bad Habits, as Ford -- founding member of UK band, The Monks, was in Toronto, Canada last July, for a special, The Monks BAD HABITS Tribute Show at legendary Horseshoe Tavern. The Monks’ Tribute show featured a slew of membersfrom top Canadian bands – including Sloan, The New Pornographers, C’mon, Cursed,and Small Sins – with Thomas D’Arcy at the helm. D’Arcy also put a Monks’ Bad Habits tribute album together, Ford is also featured on. There’s also talk of The Monk’s Bad Habits going the route of Green Day’s American Idiot, as a punk rock opera –one act stage production!

Ford is currently at work writing/recording new songs forthe Ford-Lloyd project , with Ian Lloyd of Stories, including two new Halloween songs, “Halloween:I’m The Nightmare In Your Dreams” and “There’s A Party Going On,” in additionto other new material including a tune for Hurricane Sandy. Ian Lloyd isbest known as lead singer for #1 hit “Brother Louie,” and founding member ofStories band. Lloyd can be heard singingthe song’s chorus as the theme song for Louie C.K.’s hit comedy on FX -- Louie.
