There is a new interview with me on Shredknowledge.com, check it out.
What gear do you use live and to record?
I have quite a few guitar, but my favorite is a Samick Artist Model.
This is the red one on my album cover. It is the most comfortable
instrument I’ve ever played on - and I played a lot of guitars I can
tell ya! Sometimes I’m also using my Fender Strat for cleaner or
crunch-type tones. During the recording of my album I used a Fibenare
sevenstring guitar on 3 songs: “Tight Squeeze", “Stormbeaten” and
“Golden Sun”. I use mostly Marshall amps, and sometimes my Boss GT-3
effects processor too. Of course I add some other effects (compressors,
digital delay, etc.) in the studio, but live it is only overdrive and a
bit of delay plus my good old wah.
How did you get so good?
Thanks a lot man! In my opinion, it is a combination of numerous
factors. First of all, if you want to be good on any instrument, you
have to know all the aspects and areas of the music theory. It just
won’t work without it - you might have good chops without it but after
reaching a certain level you may find yourself in a deadlock, because
the lack of theory will keep you from playing freely in a more complex
musical environment. In the second place, it is crucial to keep going
and never give up your goals. And of course you have to...

Cool review of 'Sharp Guitars From a Flat Planet' in Guitar Noize!
"...His fast Satriani-esque legato phrases fuse into fast picking
sections reminiscent of John Petrucci and Yngwie Malmsteen but Jonas
has much more to offer than speedy playing and flashy tapping, Jonas
has a some great melodic ideas too...."

Great review of 'Sharp Guitars From a Flat Planet' in the Italian guitar magazine Guitarchef.
5/5 points !!
"Arriva
Read the full review here:

My song Golden Sun is featured on the brand new shred guitar compilation, Shredding Across The World Vol.3.
Volume 3 is, of course, the third volume
in the Shredding Across The World series by Shredguy Records. On this
volume seventeen guitar players are featured! Including Chris Lasegue
(Jag Panzer), Adrian English, Kendall Bechtel (Fifth Angel), Tracy G
(ex-Dio), Chris Sheridan (Sweet Savage), Rob Johnson (Magnitude 9 and
Saddleback Shark), Sean Baker, Matthew Mills, Gary Schutt, Dannyjoe
Carter (Guitar World July 2008 world's fastest living guitar player),
Steve Bello, Richard Tull (ex-Phantom X), the phenom from Ireland
Andrew Danso, Lino, Claudio Cruz, Jonas Tamas, and a special bonus demo
instrumental track from shredder Chris Storey (ex-All Shall Perish).
Additonal musicians include Ray Luzier (Korn), Merlyn Kelly (Gwen
Stafani solo), Op Sakiya (Heir Apparent), Charlie Giardina (Eric Martin
band) and master session drummer John Wooten. Shredguy Records
president Michael McDowell says, "We have another killer volume of
shred guitar! All instrumental this time. It's great to see Kendall
Bechtel of Fifth Angel putting together a great instrumental track, as
it is for Chris Lasegue of Jag Panzer. These guys are mostly noted for
being great songwriters in two great vocal groups, but they show their
chops as well as their great writing on this CD. Plus all the shred
guitar fans are waiting for the track from underground legend and
Guitar World magazines fastest living guitar player Dannyjoe Carter and
the track that the "mad scientist of shred" Adrian English has cooked
up!" Instrumental Guitar (Electric (Heavy)/Shred/Heavy Metal), total running time, 68:02

Hi folks, I have two pieces of interesting news for you: My band (Wind's Eye) has released a concept album, called 'The City". It is a progressive rock album with great vocals, catchy choruses, interesting tonal and rhythm changes and diverse moods. You can preview all the 9 songs of the album here: http://cdbaby.com/cd/windseyeAbout my instrumental guitar solo record: "Sharp Guitars From a Flat Planet" has great sales figures so far. It is unbelievable - all the many CDs I've sent to CDBaby in the first big package, were sold out in the first 24 hours, in spite of sending a pretty high amount in the initial set. No problem - the next, even bigger package of CDs is already on the way and will arrive within a few days to CDBaby! So of course you can order the album now: just go to http://cdbaby.com/cd/tamasjonas and simply write in your e-mail address and name in the box on the left column of the CDBaby page, then click on 'Email me when it returns' - and within a few days the new stock arrives and CDBaby will notify you to place your order, then CDBaby ships the album to you immediately. That way we could always know in advance, how many CDs should we send in the next packages to CDBaby. Please encourage your friends to check out both albums!
