Hi All!
My first copy of the 2008 Jon Hodgson Book, a selection of images I have made this last 12 months, arrived last week from Lulu. The quality is far better than I had let myself anticipate and I'm extremely chuffed! So today the book goes live for public sale! The book is 20 pages of glossy colour artwork, in a 9x7 format. Its a slim volume, but all killer, no filler. I'm seriously chuffed with how this came out, and there will be more titles forthcoming in the near future. You can find it at the store here:http://stores.lulu.com/monstrosgiganticos Or direct link here: http://www.lulu.com/content/3673626 There's preview of the book on its lulu page.

Also available is Designoids 2008, a slightly more niche product - 37 pages of artwork from my design/photo/graphics line. You can preview that title here:

Hey MySpace, its been a while!
Couple of new paintings. Both are somewhere between speedies and full works.

The idea for one came about whilst I was working on a cover for a financial magazine which featured Russians in the snow, and was drifting off to sleep. The character is saying "I'm here to feed the pig". I don't know why. I had been drinking at the time, I must confess.

This one I painted for my mate Martin for the cover of the LRP rules he and some other stout fellows wrote, entitled Britannia Rex. Many years back I used to play, before I became somewhat disenchanted with dressing up as a Romano Briton and whacking people in the face/getting whacked in the face with a rubber sword. This year they are having a reunion I'm taking part by way of painting this. Easier on the ole face:

Hey all.

I have just sourced some very nice, large format prints of a couple of my recent paintings. There are currently in existence 5 prints of the dragon piece:   One I own, one was sold to a good friend the minute he saw it.  So there's 3 remaining of this initial run:

And just three prints of Snakeskin Pass (and I'm keeping one for myself, so make that 2):

I'm selling these prints in an open edition and each one is unique, with a signature, a number and a date writ by my own fair hand.
Now clearly this journal is testament to the fact I'm not averse to a bit of self promotion. But I have to say, above and beyond the usual sales pitch these prints are really nice.  Heavy quality stock - 230gsm which is heavy poster quality, and LARGE - 40mm x 60mm which is just shy of A2.  They are posters.  The print quality is very nice indeed, which is why I'm keeping 2 for myself!

They are supplied in a heavy duty poster tube, and sent first class/airmail, all inclusive for £20.  Recorded delivery can be arranged for a small additional charge.  Get 'em while you can!

Order by emailing: jonnyhodgsonart@gmail.com, or any of the usual channels you'd get in touch with me by - my website, LJ, DA, a message here etc etc etc! :)

Hey,
So this Saturday in the UK saw the screening of the Casualty episode which featured some artwork done by yours truly.
Here's some screen shots:

And the drawing itself:

Despite a typically urgent schedule and fast turnaround it was a real pleasure to work with the BBC, and of course a thrill to see my work on screen!  The production designer was kind enough to send me a couple of the cards they had made up, along with one signed by the cast!  How lovely! :)
