Hey, here's the news...
* NEW ALBUM DONE & LEAKED * The new 12-tracker, "Sheer Hart Attack," is finished. I gave out a few copies to some friends, so, if you're "in the know," you'll probably get to listen to it (or get a burned copy) before the "official" release mid-September. It will be available for FREE DOWNLOAD in its entirety within the month and that's when I'll start pushing for it to get reviewed again.
* SNEAK PEAK AND UNRELEASED TRACKS AVAILABLE ONLINE * If you can't wait any longer, hit up myspace.com/doublemurdersuicidemusic to hear some of the new songs as well as some old ones. I also put up the previously unreleased "Ladder Match," which was written, performed, and recorded in Brooklyn 2008 by Erik Schmall.
* PRISONERS WITH DEAD MEADOW THIS SUNDAY * This Sunday, Prisoners have a show with Dead Meadow at the Beachland Ballroom. I'm psyched for this one, particularly because DM's first album got heavy rotation when we used to live on Franklin and James, axeman for Prisoners, is a fan too. Should be a good time.
* NEXT SATURDAY, PRISONERS IN ATHENS * Prisoners will be playing Bruce Manor next Saturday. We'll have the 7 incher that Jason and Sam recorded for sale and it sounds great. I'll also bring some copies of Sheer Hart Attack, so, if you're in the area, come to the show and say hi to the band, me, and Lacy. We're really excited to see Bart and Emily, Lewis, Adam, Susan, Jonny, and the rest of the gang in our favorite city on earth.
* PRISONERS AT NOW THAT'S CLASS * And finally, Prisoners will be playing Now That's Class on Friday, Sept. 18. We'll be playing with a couple of bands, including Athen's Wheels on Fire, at this FREE FREE FREE show.
* LIMITED EDITION SHEER HART ATTACK COPIES * I'm going to make 30-40 copies of Sheer Hart Attack with cheap packaging, barely-thought-through cover art, and some additional tracks and put em' up for sale. There will be some bonus songs on these "expanded edition" CDs - mostly just live tracks taken from our Grog Shop show last December and some additional Hogan & Dusty Rhodes clips.
* VISIT MYSPACE.COM/DOUBLEMURDERSUICIDEMUSIC * Visit the DMS MySpace site, make it your friend, hear the new songs, and check back for the album's Lyric Sheet and Liner Notes, which will be more detailed and elaborate than anyone would ever care to read as I will "tell the story" of the album and try to explain what everything "means." All future blogposts related to the band will be posted there.
And if you're REALLY REALLY REALLY bored, check out http://doublemurdersuicidewrestling.blogspot.com my blog where I rant and rave about wrestling rarely. If you're ever bored and wondering what I thought of last week's RAW or this week's Wellness Violation, you can put yourself to sleep reading here.

Hey, as you might know, my goal of having SHEER HART ATTACK, the next DMS release, done by June 23rd didn't happen. Whoever heard of "mastering" anyway?
Everything is recorded, but I'm currently working out all the mixing and stuff to make sure it sounds as good as a homemade, super basic bedroom album can sound. I've also updated the track list a little bit by pulling "Jake's A Snake." Eventually I'll put up the last version of "Snake" that I mixed down onto MySpace, but it's really too shitty to call it part of the album.
I'm also thinking of adding some sound effects onto a live recording we have of the band at the Grog Shop in December.
Anyway, more to come this summer.

It's been awhile since I wrote one of these, so, I thought I'd give an update....
** NEW ALBUM STILL IN PRODUCTO ** The guitars, bass, and drums are down for the next Double Murder Suicide release. I was hoping to have it done by WrestleMania 25, but, unfortunately, we probably won't wrap it up till the summer. The album sounds awesome so far but it's still a toss-up what we'll call it. I'm liking "Lex Luger Sex Magic" alot, but there are other possibilities too...
** NEW MYSPACE, CHECK IT OUT ** Double Murder Suicide now has its own band myspace site at myspace.com/doublemurdersuicidemusic.com . If you venture there, you won't find much of value ASIDE FROM some tracks and a few phony album covers I've made in the "Pics" section. The album covers vary from somewhat funny to somewhat demented.
** NEW BLOG, CHECK IT OUT ** I have started a new blog at http://doublemurdersuicidewrestling.blogspot.com/. This blog is going to be strictly about wrestling, reviewing wrestling TV and PPV, talking about the weird and quirky news of the week, and other meaningless "talking points" in the world of the WWE and TNA. If you are a wrestling fan and you're dying to know my feelings on Jimmy Hart's new Wrestilicious promotion, how Juventud Guerrera gave the UK Sun it's best headline ever ("I Opened Up My Bag and Found Human Faeces"), or why the WWE dropped the ball this week, visit the Double Murder Wrestling Blog.
** WRESTLEMANIA WEEKEND IN COLUMBUS ** Anyone living in Cleveland, Columbus, or the surrounding area who'd like to watch WrestleMania, me and my buddy Damen and probably Zak and his girlfriend and maybe Jason will all be in Columbus next weekend (some of us for one night only, others for longer) for the show and will be watching at Tim (aka Snakey, aka Time Is Money)'s new house. This news obviously has very little to do with DMS, but hey, if you're around town and want to tag along with this Booze Cruise, the more the merrier. There is also still some room in my car (at least 2 seats), so, if you're in Cleveland and need a ride to Columbus on late Sunday afternoon, contact me (we'll be driving back to Cleveland on Monday morning, before noon).
** THE FINAL DMS ALBUM = FINISHER ** Following the completion of the next DMS album, I will wrap up the Double Murder Suicide saga with a third installment of wrestling-themed tunes. I've already written 7-9 more songs, some of which are really bad and some of which I'm proud of, and will record the album much like how I recorded the first DMS album (if the software allows it). I'll be using the free Audacity recording software, which I have yet to download or even play around with, but, from what I heard, it is quick and easy and can be used with minimal additional gear. If anyone reading this has used Audacity for home recordings (or thinks that its so terrible that I shouldn't even try to), I'd be interested in your tips, advice, criticisms, etc. Unfortunately, I can no longer use GarageBand on my slowly-dying computer. Tentatively titled "Finisher," this will be a "return to form" record with songs titles like "Chris Benoit Will Live Again," "The Undertaker Buries Them All," and "Sleeper Holds."
** OTHER ASIDES ** In other non-DMS news, this week there were a number of great shows going on and, unfortunately, I missed one that was probably an all-out blast. I'm talking, ofcourse, about Lemmy Caution and Kill The Hippies at Now That's Class last Wednesday. Fortunately, I did get to see Prisoners and Real Estate at the Grog on Thursday and dug their respective sets (as well as Duck Tails' guitartastic instrumentals). Finally, on Friday, Lacy and I saw AC Newman put on a 5-star set that featured pretty much every AC Newman song that you'd want to hear if you were a non-fan with some knowledge of his songs (like me) or someone who's memorized most of his two albums (like Lacy). It wasn't experimental, it wasn't heavy, but it was energetic and didn't slow down at any point. Finally, a singer-songrwriter/rock/pop band that *could've* padded their admittedly tight and concise set with boring, long-winded downers but, recognizing that it's Friday night and people are drinking, decided to keep it rocking the whole night instead. This was the kind of show that made you want to go home and listen to AC Newman again; a rare feeling after you've been standing in a sweaty club watching that same band play for 60 minutes. Or maybe it was just all that delicious Pabst.

Hey all,
A bunch of "news" this week. Here it is...
OCT. 3 - DMS in ATHENS!!! We return to Bruce Manor in Athens, OH (this time as a 3-peice) next Friday night. I know we're playing with Spooktober and, at their myspace, it also lists The Pages as performing, though I'm not sure if that's official. Mr. Adam Lee is going to hopefully help out with the visuals, projecting wrestling clips during our set (hallucinogenics recommended).
The VERY NEXT MORNING or DAY, Jonny Look is hosting an ultra-early show (noonish? 1ish? 2ish?). Jonny lives near Bromley now, I think...
Should be an awesome 18 hours in Athens.
NEW JAM SPACE Jason moved to a nice big house in scenic Tremont, so the band now has a nice big basement to drink beers and record the long-awaited follow-up to the debut album. The still-untitled album will include "Fair To Flair," "Poor Jim Ross," "Miss Elizabeth," "Hide The Scissors," and a ton more...like "They Threw The Mountie In Jail" and "Jose The Mentor" (all of which we've been playing live). We'll also be debuting a song or two in Athens ("Hart with a Heart"? "Super Crazy"? "The Ultimate"? "Dropkicked"?).
OCT 31st - HALLOWEEN @ HESSLER Double Murder Suicide makes its Hessler Street debut this Halloween night, so, come out to Hessler and follow the sound of awesomeness. EMERALDS are gonna play too, I think, so, this one's can't miss. I'm sure there'll be more acts and DJs added too.
NOV. 7th - GROG SHOP w/ PLASTIC CRIMEWAVE SOUND DMS is "psyched" (pun intendo) about playing with Chicago's Plastic Crimewave Sound (with special guest Djin of the recently reformed Yahowa 13) at the Grog in a little over a month. If you don't know anything about the Yahowa 13, or Father Yod's Source Family, Google it. Plastic Crimewave Sound are amazing. Every time I've seen them, they've floored me and most everyone else at the bar. Also playing will be Iowa's Mondo Drag, who have some really kickass YouTube videos up. If that wasn't enough psych sludge acid punk for you, Krauty will be DJing (again, hallucinogenics recommended).
NEW DMS MYSPACE The new band myspace page has been set-up but nothing is on there yet. Next week, I'm going to try to post a bunch of the art that Damen Camin and Jason have done over the past few weeks. I'm also going to post "Ladder Match," a song I recorded in Brooklyn with Erik Schmall (Woody Whatever) and maybe we can film part of one of the next shows and post that somewhere too...the adress is myspace.com/doublemurdersuicidemusic

Greetings,
Alot of news coming down the DMS pike, so here it all is -
DOUBLE MURDER SUICIDE - LIVE IN CLEVELAND Plans are set for TWO, count em' TWO, Double Murder Suicide performances in Cleveland this summer. Both shows are going to be pretty awesome, and there is still talks of some other gigging this summer (especially in August, in Chicago, possibly). Here's the two shows we've got lined up...
THURSDAY JULY 10TH - BEACHLAND TAVERN FRIDAY AUGUST 15TH - ??? - with THE DEATHERS
* if you haven't heard or seen the Deathers, they are a pretty solid punk rock outfit. I've caught them a few times over the past 12 months at the Tower and other venues and they are certainly worth checking out. I'm stoked for the show.
TEE-SHIRTS STILL AVAILABLE DMS tee-shirts are still available and will be for sale at the shows listed above.
NEW ALBUM IN THE WORKS I recorded 12 demo versions of new songs and, hopefully, we'll be getting to work on properly recording full-band versions this summer. The general idea is to have Sam produce the record - ala Jeff Lynne/"Full Moon Fever." I'm also urging Sam and Jason to contribute any wrestling-related songs they have in their respective vaults. While the new album won't be done until August, we'll probably sell some sort of EP (maybe a DMS-Does-Aerosmith rarity set?) when we play out. Tentative album titles include "Molly Holly & The Infinite Sadness," "More Cracked Rear, Less View," and "Roddy Piper At The Gates Of Dawn."
FUTURE BOOKINGS We're definitely planning on hitting Columbus and Athens, if possible, this summer - so if anyone wants to help book a show for either city, we're interested in hammering out some details, especially for Athens.

Greetings again,
Just wanted to drop some quick and well-deserved thank yous. Much fun was had this past weekend in Athens, and somewhere around 55% of our set sounded decent. Hopefully next time we're in town, Sam will be there to buoy it all together with the bass.
Super thanks to Jeff at Bruce Manor! It was a pleasure to play there and all the bands we saw were really good and different, it was very cool. Mr. Legs, Dust from a 1000 Years, and Beard of Sea were all especially enjoyable.
Mega thanks to Adam Lee and Jonny Look for spreading the word about the show, the record, and most of all, setting up a screen and projector to air Benoit clips during the set. Having the awesome visuals totally made up for my sloppiness and unfortunate forgetting of certain lyrics. Next time we're around Athens, Adam says he'll actually edit some videos especially for the set so that alone is reason enough for us to really, really, really wanna come back to Athens this summer. August at the Union, maybe?
Ultimate thanks to Pearce from the Spelling Bees for filling in with extra vocals on the outro of "Wrestlemania of Love" - we needed them. Also ultimate thanks to Zach from We March for "getting all Steven Tyler" with us for our rendition of "Crazy." (Side note - Knifey Spooney played "Cryin'" in 04', Double Murder Suicide played "Crazy" in 08', it is safe to assume that the Get A Grip Trilogy will be completed by 2012. Trust me when I say this: It will be "Amazing" - pun every bit intended).
OTHER QUICK NOTE - In the future, when booked, the band is just going to go under the name Double Murder Suicide or just Double Murder for short. Eventually we'll get a MySpace site, but I'm gonna wait till we actually have some songs to post and all that jasm. This means the Benoit-inspired debut is now kinda like our "self-titled" album. Basically, I just don't think that my full birth name is a very catchy band name. So, from here on in, me & Jason & Sam are Double Murder Suicide.
In case anyone was dying to know, here was the set list from May 31, 2008, @ Bruce Manor:
1. Rabid Wolverine Attacks 2. They Threw The Mountie In Jail* 3. WrestleMania of Love 4. I'm Not Bitter (Knifey Spooney cover) 5. Jose The Mentor* 6. I'm Carlito 7. Fair To Flair* 8. The Ballad of Eddie Guerrero 9. Crazy (Aerosmith cover)
* Songs were played for the first time ever in public.
Thanks to everyone who made it to come see us. All sorts of new music being written and rehearsed. Hopefully, we'll see you all somewhere somehow this summer!
Sincerely, Josh

THIS SATURDAY, PARTY ON WEST UNION, DMS LIVE!
For the first time ever, selections from "Double Murder Suicide" will be performed live and drunken. Also on the tentative set are some "classics" and several new tunes (moron that below).
The house party is actually planned to include a whole slew of bands and will be kicking off sometime in the late afternoon. We're gonna try our darndest to make it to Athens by 8/9 PM, and hopefully we'll be able to play around 9/9:30 PM or later. As of right now I'm not sure who else is going to play, but there may be some spots left to fill, so, if you've got a band in Athens that wants to play on Saturday, talk to Jonny Look.
Unfortunately, for this performance, Double Murder will only feature myself and Jason doing the two-man band thing, but Sam will add some much-needed bass at future shows…ALSO, we haven't practiced much, so, this should be really "interesting" (and by "interesting," I mean, terrible).
P.S - If you're in Athens, Sam is playing this Friday too at Bruce Manor (74 W.Union) with The Caboladies out of Kentucky.
NEW ALBUM IN THE WORKS As mentioned earlier, whoever manages to make it to Saturday's set will get to hear some of the new Double Murder jams, including the Ray Traylor-inspired "They Threw The Mountie In Jail" and my ode to the Nature Boy, "Fair to Flair." These songs, and others, and probably some full-band versions of older stuff, will all become the next album.
Work has not begun in earnest, but I'm hoping to get it all wrapped up by the end of August.
Possible albums titles include "Sgt. Slaughter's Owen Harts Club Band," "Use Your Submission I & II," and "Roddy Piper At The Gates of Dawn."
NEW TEE-SHIRTS AVAILABLE Also available Saturday will be the first batch of Double Murder Suicide tees. Homemade and sweet-looking, tee-shirts are limited (like, there's about 10 of em') and only $5 each. We're gonna sell em' at shows, so, for now, no internet sales or anything. Once (or, really, IF) we sell the first batch, we'll make more and make them available through the mail and all that. Sizes are S, M, L, and XL - so if you come to the house party on Saturday, bring an extra $5 and leave with a tee-shirt!

Good news!DOUBLE MURDER SUICIDE (Songs in the Key of Crossface) is now available for free download at the following sites, if the hyperlinks direct you elsewhere, just type the following adresses into your browser:
joshlandismusic/dms.zip
and
joshlandismusic.com/dms.zip
I will also be posting lyrics right here at the blog spot, so, I strongly recommend copying the lyrics and printing them out along with burning the 10-track album. The download should only take about 9 minutes or so, and, as always, I strongly encourage burning CDs for friends and family.
The album cover art can be copied from here.
SUPER THANKS to Johnny Look, Eugene Kolodin, and Josh Landis for letting me make the album available through their server.
Thanks again to DX Ferris for the great review in Cleveland Scene Magazine last week. In case you haven't seen it, you can read it here.
Also, BIG thanks to the WWE for the best damn Rumble since 1992. Hustle, Loyalty, Rumble: John Cena. Triple H still can't see him. Cena/Orton at No Way Out should be good, and I pray they let Cena steamroll through McMahon-in-Law at WrestleMania too.
Thanks to the living legend of internet wrestling websites, Calvin Martin of LordsofPain.net, for plugging the album in the news section last week.
Last, but not least, thanks to the international support I've received from fan(s) in the UK and Portugal who have downloaded the album and emailed me. Big ups to "The Suicide Kid" Jack Piston, an indy wrestler out west who has been rocking DMS.
