Humeur actuelle :  empreint de gratitude
I just want to see if these things still show up on the spacebook if I make them public, here. I hope everyone's having a wonderful day. My mom's having arthroscopic knee surgery to repair three torn ligaments around her knee tomorrow morning.

If you believe in the power of prayer/positive thoughts to help do a person some good on their road to recovery, please sing a song, do a little dance, take a walk on the beach or put in a good word to the deity (or lack thereof) of your choice tomorrow morning. We have to be there at 8:30; she should go in at 10:00. It should take about two hours. She may or may not spend the night.

My grandmother is going to try to teach me to knit (my idea) to keep us busy while she's in surgery. That should be entertaining. For those kicking it old school, my mom's name is Eta Batsheva bat Fayge. But I just call her Eema. :)

(She should be fine; thank you, organ donors. Science amazes me -- a donated ligament is supposedly going to be put in there. How they do it with just two tiny holes is beyond me. As long as it works, that's great!)

My dad's doing PT and getting his shoulder back; I'm doing PT, working on walking. I am definitely getting better, even if progress isn't fast enough for me. I find cranking up music and dancing around my apartment does me the most good. It's not much, for dancing, but the rhythmic weight-shifting is good for PT. It knocks me out, but it gives me hope.

as far as I know, you can't just show up in Israel and be handed citizenship papers. hat tip to dave h. for making me aware of this.

Humeur actuelle :  méditatif
I want to encourage folks who are thinking about the Chabad House folks in Mumbai to check out this week's Havel Haveilim (jblog carnival). There are lots of different entries about it, there. Every senseless murder is a tragedy to all of humanity, as well as to those who miss their loved ones. I hope everyone reading this is doing well and knows they're loved.
Click here for this week's Havel Haveilim.

I saw Spearhead recently. Always a great show. He writes great hooks. And he's a big warm fuzzy.

You have to make a log-in, but it's otherwise free.
This is one of my favorite bands. They're WONDERFUL!!
Colorado people, this doesn't start until 11pm EST, so decent viewing hours for you, if you're around.

This turned my frown upside down. I love these guys. Missed 'em, last weekend.

A couple of posts here. That blog tends to be heavier on the j content than this one. If there's something you don't understand and you want me to translate, just holler.
