RAVE: I received this in my comments and now I'm passing it on to you: A friend of mine and I have started an organization called "In Love We Trust"; An organization to help LGBT Teens and prevent suicide and addiction issues among them. We've just started out, and I was wondering, maybe you could help promote by setting a status on your myspace and telling your readers to check it out. We are raising money for other organizations such as "To Write Love On Her Arms" and "The Trevor Project". We are also raising money for those less fortunate to ind help and go into treatment. Because although depression is a leading cause to suicide among teens, the treatment is incredibly expernsive...
We would really love your help, and we'll send you a free shirt if you'd like!
I miss hearing from you, so get back to me when you can!
Thanks, doll and have a GREAT day!

RAVE: If you know me, you know I'm not a fan of Christmas. Okay, I'm a Santa Hater. I've actually gotten through most of the last month without whining about holiday commercials, but I'm thisclosetosnuffingoutelves. One more week. I can hang on.

RAVE: I have two funny and adorable kittens, Jimmy Dean and Oberto, to keep me in check.

RANT: (RTV Spoilers) I was mad that Russell won SYTYCD because Jakob was so obviously the better dancer. But, of course, everything in life comes down to a popularity contest. You're going to kill me, but I think Russell is my favorite on Survivor. Sure, he's a total a-hole, but he's kept the game interesting. Why do people follow total a-holes in life? Ask yourself that.

RAVE: Friends just gave us Avalanche tickets for tomorrow night! (Ice hockey.) The seats are "on the ice" and even include VIP parking.

RANT: I don't know what Sherri and I are doing for Christmas. No one's actually called to invite us over, which is fine. Really. It is. What we want to do is go see Sherlock Holmes. I want to see Up in the Air and Brothers, too. Maybe if anyone calls, we'll be at the movies.

RAVE: I have a bunch of promo stuff coming up in January for my upcoming novel, By the Time You Read This, I'll Be Dead. I'll make sure to keep you updated, or you can check my Web site at julieannepeters.com.

RANT/RAVE: This'll be the last Friday blog before Christmas, so I hope you have a wonderful holiday (go see a movie). Peace, joy and love to my family, friends and fans. Have a cool Yule.

RAVE: Friday is critique group, so I'm posting R&Rs on Thursday night.

RANT: MY new manuscript will be under the gun tomorrow. Eek!

RAVE: I stole a book someone loaned Sherri to read -- Dewey, The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World. It's delightful. I hope she doesn't notice it's missing off her stack before I finish it.

RAVE: Survivor was pretty fun tonight. That Russell. He is so gonna get his ass whooped.

RANT: Glee has ended for this year. Only one more episode of SYTYCD. Is there a dancer on Earth better than Jakob? I don't think so.

RAVE: (RTV spoiler.) Remember how I predicted after the first episode that Michael would win Top Chef? Call me psycho.

RANT: How will I make it through Christmas without my RTV?

RAVE: Rage: A Love Story was nominated for the 2010 Amelia Bloomer Project for feminist literature by the GLBTQ Roundtable of the American Library Association. Whew, that's a mouthful.

RAVE: It was finally warm enough today to shovel the driveway. So grateful to have a hearth and home when the temps drop below zero. I'm thankful to have a home at all.

That's right -- a free book every month for the entire year of 2010. Sort of like those fruit of the month clubs? You don't even have to be fruity to enter the contest. Here's the scoop:

HIGH: Sherri and I are going to see Spring Awakening on Sunday. Soooooooooo excited.

HIGH: We went to see Precious last weekend. Tough movie, but absolutely fantastic.

LOW: Sherri slipped on the ice and cracked her head open. Yikes. So much blood. She has a big knot on the back of her head and a mild concussion, plus she's sore all over. She fell right on her wallet, so she has this square bruise on her butt. (Kinda funny, but don't tell her I said that.)

HIGH: I finished the revision on my book for 2012. It's titled, She Loves You, She Loves You Not... More about it in the coming years.

LOW: Books take FOREVER to publish.

HIGH: Sher and I took advantage of all the sales and bought an HDTV. We're still trying to figure out how to use all the features. Way too confusing instructions for me. Show me the on/off button and I'm good to go.

LOW: We've overspent our entertainment budget by beaucoup bucks.

HIGH: It doesn't mean my favorite charities will suffer because I always budget generously for them.

HIGH: If you missed all the promotional junk I put up this week, here's the week in review:

Excerpt from By the Time You Read This, I'll Be Dead is on my Web site: http://www.julieannepeters.com. MySpace won't allow a direct link (poo poo heads), but I trust you'll find it.

HIGH/LOW: The holidays are bearing down. I'm not a big fan of Christmastime, so all I want to do is make it to 2010 with my sanity intact.

I will have an excerpt posted on my Web site from By the Time You Read This, I'll Be Dead. ***Bonus Bonus Bonus*** I even read from my own work (which I NEVER do) and included an audio file with the excerpt.

Go my site at www.julieannepeters.com, click on the first *new* item under Site Bytes, then click on Read an Excerpt under By the Time You Read This, I'll Be Dead. It seems like a long route to get there, but I've taken my cue from Geico commercials.

After you read and/or listen to this excerpt, there is no WAY you're going to be able to resist this book. *crosses fingers, eyes, and toes*

RAVE: I managed to get everything on the table piping hot for Thanksgiving dinner. (Except the stuff that should've been served cold, of course.) Since I don't cook much anymore, this was a miraculous feat.

RAVE: The thanks I feel for all I have lingers, and I hope it will forever.

RAVE: The Broncos won last night. WOOT. Maybe they've rediscovered their  mojo.

RAVE: It's a beautiful sunny day in Colorado. I think I'll go take a long walk and give thanks to Mother Nature.

RAVE: Love my friends, family and fans. Thanks to so many people who enrich my life.

YAY: It's Friday, a beautiful sunny day in Colorado, and all I plan to do today is read.

YAY/NAY: I'm off to Philadelphia for a conference this weekend, which means schmoozing with English teachers and publishing peeps, but I'll miss the Broncos game and The Amazing Race. Bummer.

YAY: Sher and I are going to the Starz Film Festival to see Two Spirits, the story of Fred C. Martinez, Jr. FC was a trans teen who was brutally murdered in Cortez Colorado, and the person to whom I dedicated my book, Luna. I'm thrilled to know FC's story lives on.

YAY: Then we're going to see The Blindside. You know how much I adore Sandra Bullock.

NAY: (RTV Spoiler). Sherri and I were both unhappy that Irina won Project Runway. Not that her talent is lacking in any way, but her collection was so BLACK. She totally ignored Tim's suggestion to add some color, and she comes off as such a snot. I thought every outfit looked exactly the same. Oh well. I'm glad I don't have to judge -- or wear those clothes.

NAY: The Mentalist last night was a shocker. When, oh when, will they catch Red John?

YAY: I finished Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol and I don't care what anyone says about his books, I find them intelligent and thrilling. Whew. It's hard to catch your breath after that one.

YAY: By the Time You Read This, I'll Be Dead will be out before you know it. Ask for a bookstore gift card for Christmas so you can run to B&N or Borders or your local Indie bookstore on January 5th to pick up a copy hot off the press.
