Yesterday was my 2 year anniversary with Jason. I can't believe it's been 2 years already. It's gone by so fast. I still remember the time before we officially started dating – all those sms's late into the night, the butterflies before we met up for drinks, our first date! I was so nervous on our first date – I have never experienced that feeling before, and I never have again. Jason told me that he had smoked a couple of cigarettes just waiting for me to show up. Haha! So the feeling was mutual.
So yesterday as I said, we celebrated 2 years of ups and downs. Jason told me last week that he had planned something and that we had to leave the house at 8am, no questions asked. Of course I bugged him to tell me where we were going, but he didn't budge. So after we exchanged our gifts yesterday morning (he got me a gorgeous ring with a pink stone and a voucher from Identity, and I bought him tickets to the Mad Caddies show and a t-shirt) we got into the car and off we went! Jason had packed a little "goodies" bag with Ice Tea, chips and chocolates for the drive!
After driving for about 30 mins, I could see that we were headed to Hartbespoort Dam. We got there around 9:30 and headed to a cute little double story café over looking the dam, and had breakfast. After that, we drove around and made some stops at a couple of craft markets. We almost bought a Hubbly but decided to get one in JHB instead – there is more variety at the flea markets here. Then we went to a place called "Pick a Pancake" for drinks. I was still too full from breakfast to order anything to eat, so I ended up having a chocolate milkshake and Jase ordered a Black Label. The weather was perfect for it – very hot!!
We ended up at another craft market place that had a couple of restaurants and a snake park! Of course, I wanted to go check out the snakes, and we had made it just in time for a mini-snake show. The guy there pulled out a Cobra, and Puff Adder! Crazy mofo! The last snake he showed was a 30 kg albino Burmese Python. The thing was huge, and such a beautiful yellow and white colour! He came around to everyone and let us touch it (the snakes frikken tail fell off the side of the wall and almost onto my leg, arrgh
), and after the show he started asking people if they wanted to hold the huge thing! And Jason surprised me because he volunteered, and he hates snakes! So the guy slung this huge THING over Jason's shoulders. It was pretty funny – the look on Jason's face was priceless, and I got a good photo of him and the snake too.
After the show we walked around the park checking out all the snakes, and then had lunch at a restaurant outside under some trees and umbrella's, and they had little mist sprays over the tables – very refreshing in the heat!
After lunch we headed home, traveling through the town and checking out the houses and neighborhoods. We got home around 16H00 and just chilled. Jason really spoilt me yesterday – we both had a great day. Here's to another year!!!
PS. I love you lots baby!!!
