Several of you know the answer to that but I've been receiving an increasing number of messages the past few months with that question.
So, stating the not-so-obvious: No, My real name is Catalina.
I despise the nickname "Cat" and the usual idiots who have it. (aka: Catherine, Cathy, Catrice, etc..) Therefore, I deviced this cute little name that blends both my hispanic side and my american side. Voila! "Miss Gato"
Yes, I also realize "Gato" is the masculine form of cat in Spanish. However, I'm no hermaphrodite (Alex can coincide to that). I just felt that the true meaning of "Gato" would be lost if I had gotten all "politically correct on MySpace's ass". That, and I'm no girly girl. No pink exsists in my closet nor do I "get my hair/nails done".
Miss Gato is just a moniker* I developed roughly 3 years ago on MySpace that I've accepted to use in real life. I know "Catalina" can be a hard name to remember/pronounce/write/type into your cellphone (other rolodex excuses to come) so I made MY life and YOUR life easier by dumping my government name. (You're welcome!
)
And FYI: I didn't ditch "Catalina" because I get the usual questions of:
- "Hey, Isn't that a salad dressing?'
- "My dad drove a Catalina."
- "Did your parents live on Catalina Island?"
- "Isn't that a swimsuit line?"
Hey, whatever it takes for you to remember. If fact, here's a gift to you for reading this:

Don't go using it all in one place!
Hope this clears up any confusion!
